She got to the final of B.G.T. and got to sing with Elaine Paige, who she wanted to be as good as. Sadly she didn't win and it knocked her for 6. She ended up having to go into a sanitorium to rest. I think a lot of people were shocked.

Thought she was talented but I felt people really over-egged her ability - a lot of that could be me rebelling against things like Pop Idol, X-Factor and BGT though

It was really patronising towards Susan. You should check out the story behind the now infamous Susan Boyle Hashtag. It started with a tweet intending to promote a party for her new album, but unfortunately it was hashtagged as this:- #Susanalbumparty . You might need to read it a couple of times before you get it. π

This clip has been reacted to by pretty much every single reaction channel over the years because of just how beautiful it is, the story of the underdog. Also being a fellow Scot, it really makes us proud and emotional. Unfortunately Susan was pipped at the post and finished 2nd, however she did go on to actually duet with Elaine Page (The person she mentioned). She did have a very successful few years and as far as i am aware she does still sell out arenas/stadiums. Les Miserables (nothing involving wizards) is a very famous musical (Not Opera?). Up there with Phantom of The Opera, Cats, etc.
