Bottom S2E6 S Out Reaction

Comments

8:30 - I agree completely. You can always know what "Richie" is thinking just from the look on Rik's face.

Ronnie Cassinello

Due to tragic circumstances, this was the final episode of Bottom. It was recorded in June 1992 for broadcast on the 29th of October 1992, being set in a whimsical version of Wimbledon Common, culminating with the arrival of a sex offender. However, on the 15th of July 1992 Rachel Nickell was raped and murdered in front of her own child by Robert Napier on Wimbledon Common. The BBC obviously pulled this episode from broadcast, and replaced it with "Holy", after cutting 10 minutes out of the 40 minute Christmas special to make it fit this pre-Halloween slot. This episode did not get shown for another three years until the 10th of April 1995, three years since recording and two months after series three of Bottom finished. Which means it is TECHNICALLY the final episode of Bottom "in broadcast order".

Taylor is right. Series 1 episode 5 is 's Up, not 's Out. They'd not have two episodes with the same name. Been really enjoying your reactions! 😎😃

Ash Jeffries

If you love Rik...many years later he was in a series as a main character called Believe Nothing...the episodes are on youtube! The character reminds me of ritchie so much!

Smithy Craft_beer_chap

This episode wasn't originally shown in the 2nd Series as it coincided with the murder of Rachel Nickel on Wimbledon Common. If I remember right it was first aired in 1995.

Nicky Wall

Oh you poor thing! Hope you rest up. Hangovers are the worst! 🤢

Killermcknight

We never had until this most recent one we watched, a comment in here mentioned that something happened during the credits, so we finally did.

Killermcknight

I’ve got the worst hangover of my life . I’m not proud of it . Steve praising Rik helped. Thanks Steve and I agree he’s magnificent

Erica

Have you watched the entire end credits scene? You only need to watch it once, but please do.

Emergency pint

Ian Sullivan

Can’t wait to watch series 3 with you, don’t forget about the live stage shows

Lester Price

Looking forward to series 3 (and hopefully the love shows and the movie too). Loving these reactions. Rik and Ade are two of my comedy heroes. Legends!

Brad Tyler

I think you'd like the Goes Wrong Show. They did a couple of series on TV and two longer performances of Peter Pan and A Christmas Carol. I think it's brilliant and something you'd enjoy based on what I've seen you laugh at.

Mac

We will have season 3 episode 1 up tomorrow 🙂 finally just recorded episode 2 tonight

Killermcknight

Sone of my favourite episodes are in series 3!

Mac

Blackadder is one we’re talking about doing as one of our next ones. I think not in the next round of shows (we’ll be doing 2 at once I believe), but the next set after that.

Killermcknight

That’s one we’re discussing doing 😁

Killermcknight

Rik is great in Blackadder too. Ade is in two series as well.

Mac

I know you have probably had this recommended to you a lot but in Young Ones (another show) it features Ade and Rik but also Dave Hedgehog too!!

Jade C Blake

Ohh that sounds fun

As an aside: the voice actor for the Geico gecko is Jake Wood, known in the UK for playing the character of Max Branning from 2006 to 2021 in the popular soap opera EastEnders.

Steve Webster

after you have finished season 3 and if you want more bottom they did a movie for bottom called " Guest House Paradiso " its about them being in charge and running a hotel together i wont say more as i dont want to spoil anything encase you watch it

The Wombles was a BBC children’s show in the 70s, based on stories by Elizabeth Beresford about mouse-like creatures who live in a burrow on Wimbledon Common and make good use of litter that people have dropped there. The show was narrated by the legendary Bernard Cribbins and featured characters such as Orinoco, Tobermory, Tomsk, Madame Cholet and Great Uncle Bulgaria. They also had some chart success with a few novelty songs that featured on shows such as Top Of The Pops.

It's private Andy! Put it as unlisted

Killermcknight

Might be some of your best facial expression reactions in this one. From happy to sad, to scared to crying... I had to clip it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gavZSIXoWnE

Andy

and then the bottom live shows =)

Nothinghalo

Rik and Ade were massive inspirations to everyone in comedy over here since they first burst on the scene

Strangely, this episode aired in the UK after Series 3 was shown, despite it being in Series 2. This is because shortly after it was finished and ready to be broadcast, Rachel Nickell was killed on Wimbledon Common, where this episode is supposed to be based, so it was decided not to air on UK tv for some time. (It was released on VHS though)

Daz Parker

Oh yes! Just a quick edit, yes the titles of the episode are meant to be read immediately following bottom- sp for example Bottom Gas Bottom Smells Bottoms Up Bottoms Out Bottom Digger Bottom Burglary Bottom Holy Theres some that dont quite work as well as others but its a little chlidish schoolground type additional joke they try to do.
