As the resident sweaty sock, porridge muncher, heroin addict spoon bender, or whatever else we get called by the rest of the UK, I'll fill in some gaps. In Scotland at least, we actually had cans and bottles where they'd replace IRN-BRU with FANNY. Fanny does mean what you expect, but also in Scotland it's a soft insult. Like idiot. Stop being a fanny etc. Taxi for a fanny! That type of thing. The final ad of the Snowman - I don't see this mentioned. But there's actually 2 or 3 Irn-Bru ones like this, but it goes back to I think it's early 80s The Snowman. It's a short TV movie where a kid off school for the holidays builds a snowman and it comes to life one night and when they fly the song 'we're walking in the air' comes on. So this song and ad is in the same style. The fun part is the first and second were so many years apart, they were able to show various Scottish landmarks that didn't exist in the first ad. They show the Forth bridge (rail) and the road, but we've since had a new one built and it's in the second ad. Not to do a French history lesson, but the rail bridge was the first site attacked by the Germans during WWII. That's not technically true, they were aiming for the shipyards in Rosyth shipyards, but at the time that's what some thought was the target. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_River_Forth

Thatās interesting! Itās pretty far different from Coke. Which makes me wonder if Coke here taste different than Coke there does. Stuff in America just has to many more additives and crap.

2025-04-07 12:17:32 +0000 UTCBoring Irn Bru Ingredient chat alert šØ So I went to the shop and grabbed a 500ml bottle and these are the ingredients listed for over here: Ingredients: Carbonated Water, Sugar, Acid (Citric Acid), Flavourings (Including Caffeine, Ammonium Ferric Citrate & Quinine), Sweetners (Aspartame, Acesulfame K), Preservative (E211), Colours (Sunset Yellow FCF, Ponceau 4R). Sunset Yelow FCF & Ponceau 4R: May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in Children. Contains a source of Phenylalanine. Turns out what you call Yellow Number 6, we call Sunset Yellow FCF. Apparently this isn't outright banned i the UK but the packaging must state the 'may have adverse effect on children's activity and attention' warning if the product contains it

2025-04-07 07:18:43 +0000 UTC"You out your tit's away you saggy old bag" , "granny fanny" - bloody hell guys, too early for that 𤣠spat my tea out twice watching this š brilliant There's no alcoholic version of Irn Bru but it can often be used as a mixer, so some people will mix it with Rum and have a Bru & Stormy, or you can mix it with vodka etc Number 2 isnt bad on its own but I think it only makes full sense if you've seen the British Christmas special "The Snowman" which has a musical section "Walking Through the Air" that this is taking the piss out of. It's pretty much the national drink of Scotland and they are fiercely proud of it. I think Scotland is the only place (or if not, one of the only places) where Coca cola is available but ISNT the top selling pop/soda. I love an Irn Bru but if my colleague for Scotland is down I swap it out for a Dr Pepper so I don't seem like I'm pandering 𤣠but of that English/Scottish rivalry living deep. Really loved this reaction guys
