2025-04-20 16:10:17 +0000 UTCYou probably know but Afrikaans and Dutch is so similar due to the Dutch colonising a lot of parts of Africa in the 17th century so the language is a derivative of 17th century Dutch (hence it being similar but not identical to Modern day Dutch!)

2025-04-20 12:55:40 +0000 UTCThe German language is really easy for us Scots because of all the "cchhhh" sounds as well as others. I was really good at German in School and College, i only took it at first because my Uncle married a German woman with kids so i thought it would be helpful. I never thought for one minute that they were all very fluent in English lol. But hey ho, i can still sort of speak certain words. I didn't get to sit my final exam because i was an asshole to my teacher Mr Apple Crumble (Abercrombie). He hated me lol.
