2025-08-16 02:32:29 +0000 UTCPersonally I think the football hooliganism is the most embarrassing thing, after your reaction to The Beautiful Game this must bring it crashing down to earth. All I’ll say is thankgod I’m not English 👍👍👍

2025-08-15 18:16:03 +0000 UTCMy question is, why was this even suggested to these two? It's just nonsense TV. There is nothing to be learnt from this. It's actual shit TV. Whoever influenced these nice people to watch this, i hope your grandma's genital warts are hereditary.

2025-08-15 05:40:26 +0000 UTCTaylor makes a good point here about working-class towns. In general, British working-class towns are grim to look at when you're straight off the train and its immediate surroundings because that is where the majority live and work. National opinion on an area is mostly based off this first impression. The aesthetic correlates with the wealth or export of that area, but take a ride even 10 minutes away from the centre and you'll see the most beautiful landscape and architecture in the country, usually accompanied by a higher class of people. Even in the instance of Burnley; Travel further out and you'll be in a whole other World. My hometown of Wigan is the same. Although nowhere near as run down as other places, you very often see the rich and famous living on the outer edge in places like Up Holland, Appley Bridge, Wrightington and Parbold. And yes, the chip on my shoulder is heavy.

2025-08-14 23:30:47 +0000 UTCThe sheer mentality of football hooligans is beyond ridiculous! Can you not just go and enjoy a game of football. ⚽🏆

2025-08-14 19:28:16 +0000 UTCI know some people who are part of the Leeds Service Crew. Here are my thoughts on Hooligans, they are either: Old fuckers largely past it living on past glories, and I'm sure embellishing stories Young fuckers (Late teens to very early 20s) full of testosterone and no guidance excited by the thrill of being a bad boy, but only in a group Its all a bit pathetic. I will also state 2 things: 1) Witnessing football violence these days is quite rare, other than generic arguments etc. you get from any large groups having alcohol. In the terms that they describe here - gangs of people chasing each other and beating the crap out of each other? I've never witnessed it since going to footie from the 90s, that is a thing of the past and hooliganism in general is a rarity, in my opinion. 2) There is a benefit to the 'Firms' that isn't touched upon here - Sometimes you'd have got firms going to attack innocents, families etc. but if your team had a good firm they'd protect you, get you out of the way and put themselves in the line of danger, or advise you to avoid certain areas. As I say, its largely a thing of the past and although I fucking hate the police in general, they have got to grips with this sort of thing

2025-08-14 17:46:03 +0000 UTCAs theyre in the same league, they will play each other a minimum of 2 times, one home, one away. Theres also cup competitions where they can also randomly be drawn to play each other

2025-08-14 14:59:14 +0000 UTCTeams play each other twice during a season. Once at each teams ground. They may also meet in the various cup competitions during the season

2025-08-14 13:01:09 +0000 UTCSame. I was thinking about watching this reaction today, but I don't think I can stomach seeing those kinds of thuggish geezer types. Interesting that Danny Dyer mentioned recently on Louis Theroux' postcast, that he regretted doing these hard man types of documentaries, and only took them because he needed a payday to support his wife and kid.

2025-08-14 12:54:18 +0000 UTCI hate that these people were even given time on the screen, it's glorifying criminals. And this shouldn't be the message that is passed down to the younger generation of football fans. These people are the sort of people complaining about the poverty in their communities, but then they're also the ones destroying local businesses and their OWN communities. Madness 🙄 Sorry, rant over! Good video guys. Your bewilderment at this behaviour is how those outside football feels

2025-08-14 12:31:08 +0000 UTCI suppose the ending is the interesting bit and a topic of its own. Prisons in the US have been used by some European countries as the warning, that there is no rehabilitation, once you've done time your career prospects are down the toilet - you end up going back. The UK isn't that far off, there's some very progressive prisons in Scandinavia where they don't take away rights like voting in political elections, so you don't feel totally detached from society. There's help to get you a better job, some don't even lock you down etc. I'm not sure if it works or not. But when you've got someone from a deprived area who wasn't working before, it makes no difference. It probably gives him a better reputation amongst the other - for lack of a better term - degenerates. The Burnley Andy is probably a loser in most settings, but there he's someone. So I wonder if that's why he's quite happy for his son to follow, as it makes him feel like something. He's definitely hiding behind this notion of it's in him and it's what he's meant to do. It's like Everton Andy said, you grow up and realise you were being a bit of a twat.

2025-08-14 10:47:32 +0000 UTCNothing against you guys or anyone interested in this but i just loathe these kinds of people, and there’s quite a few films that glorify this stuff too. It’s all so fecking pointless to me.

2025-08-14 10:23:37 +0000 UTCLoved Danny since Human Traffic but in these roles I can't take him seriously since Morgana Robinson's impersonation

2025-08-14 10:00:16 +0000 UTCRemember Ritchie and Eddie in the shop? "British thugs Ritchie, best in the world". :) And that's what these people are, thugs, and like you said kind of cowardly in the gang beatings. You might be interested in another program like this that Danny Dyer did called "Deadliest Men". And the men featured are truly scary people. Most of the episodes are on you tube but ill pop the IMDB linky below. Well worth a watch, or adding to the next poll. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2288499/

2025-08-14 09:11:12 +0000 UTCA lot of the run down areas that they showed in Burnley have actually been cleared and new housing built. The terraced houses that were shown were mainly built between 1870 and 1910 by cotton mill owners to house the workers in their mills.
