Taiwan's Brutal Nut is its most popular Drug

Hey Laowinners!

If you haven't seen the video, watch this first. The video above is behind the scenes for you guys!

Main Episode on Betel Nut - https://youtu.be/ncD3-TnBQmE

Of course, YouTube age restricted and demonetized the video, I appealed it, it's back, but now most people won't get notifications. I am really battling with YouTube these days, so thank you so much for actually providing a reliable income source to produce these videos. You guys rock!

Despite what you may think, I am not a druggy, nor have I ever been. However, something mild and natural like this, I tend to keep an open mind. So what is this insane nut that grows on palm trees literally EVERYWHERE around Taiwan?

槟榔 - Bīnláng - Is a weird nut that is chewed in a lot of South East Asian countries like Indonesia, but since it grows everywhere in Taiwan, it really took off with the locals.

Smell - The first experience I had with the nut was in a taxi from Taipei airport to my hotel, and smelled this sickly sweet/disgusting aroma in the car. I kept seeing the driver spitting out red fluid, and after asking him what it was, I was surprised when he told me he wasn't profusely bleeding out of his mouth, and was chewing something called betel nut.
I can describe the smell as fresh cut grass mixed with diet cola and a dash of bitter coffee. It doesn't smell good.

Price/Use - Betel nut costs about $1.50 USD per bag, which usually has about 10 nuts. The betel nut shop attendant will give you a free one while you wait. The usage is highly habitual, and can be addictive. It's use is HIGHLY frowned upon, despite being fully legal. Usually it's a blue collar thing, so mechanics, drivers, and people in the field typically chew the red staining nut. I have never seen a young person who has been to college using the nut. Users are mostly male.

Feeling - First bite tastes like salad without dressing. Then the caustic lime (used to activate the drug and allow entry into the bloodstream. Your heart starts pounding, you sweat, your face turns red, and you get a mild euphoria. This rush is akin to having a fever, and having way too many cigarettes and coffee, all at once. It wears off about 15 minutes later, and you feel tired.

THIS IS NOT THE SAME THING!

So many people who have tried this dried and told me it didn't do anything, it's because it doesn't. Dried betel nut, without the leaf or caustic lime will give you a mild buzz that feels like a cup of coffee or a puff of a cigarette. When you hear people say betel nut doesn't do anything, or feels like coffee, this is what they are talking about.

Overall. Betel nut is worth a try, and feels ok when drinking alcohol, but I wouldn't do it more than a few times. It's pretty gross, and stains your teeth and gives you mouth cancer.

Thanks so much for your support!!! We appreciate each and every one of you.
