Hey Laowinners!
Here's Vivis:

I keep getting people asking me and Vivi to do the 10 year challenge. I guess it's just posting a pic from 10 years ago and one from recently, so I'll do that and expand on it a bit.

10 Years ago, Vivi was graduating from her bachelors degree in Macau, and entering her Masters program for business management. She says she was "immature, and full of freedom" since she was able to escape her family and live in Macau for 7 years. She often went out to KTV (karaoke), and was a fan of American pop music, and tv shows like Gossip Girl. Her old internet handle was even GossipWeiWei, which I found hilarious.

Back then, I thought she was so much more forward thinking and adventurous than the other Chinese girls I met, and she was always happy to hop on the back of the motorcycle and explore and get lost with me.

I was starting to break out of the small town America mentality, and was probably more shocked to live in a big city surrounded by millions of people more than just being in China.
I was curious, and a bit reckless; not afraid to approach people and new situations. I was very averse to hanging out with other foreigners, and cutting myself off from the "weirdness" of China. Looking back, I think I was a bit of a douche, and probably came off as a "I'm more adventurous than you" to my co-workers, but it taught me a lot about what it meant to get out of my comfort zone.

10 years later, with 2 beautiful daughters, and a wife that is one of my best friends, I can safely say that I wouldn't have it any other way.
