VR Muscle Videos Test -> Free Previews

EDIT: The option is taken off again, due it resulted in sales drop.

Following problem: We have complains. Zoltan sells  VR 3D vdeos, but it is not clear what each Video contains exactly. This is fully understandable. Me myself, I usally don't buy stuff, when I don't  know the exact content. Now this is a test. At least you Patrons, will be able  to watch all VR 180 as streaming in 2D full resolution and then can decide which to buy and downlowd as VR 180 3D video for your VR Headset.
Again, this is a test. We are not idiots. We know with some effort it is possible to downlowd these vids, and use it in your VR Headset, though never in the original 4K resolution.
You must know, it is a service test. Dont think Zoltan is making big money with his videos. He has costs, traveling through whole Europe to make these vids happen. He has high costs for equipment, and it depends, has to pay the girls. I know him now long enough, and believe me, he didn't got rich in the last years, and won't in the next years. But has a family with 2 kids to feed.
So as a Patron go here   https://vimeo.com/ondemand/zoltanveghvrvideos
On the right end you find a subscription possibility for $2,- or about 1.77 Euro for one month. On check out use "previews"  as coupon code. You will get free access to all current 70+ VR vids, in 2D streaming (side by side) so you can much better decide which ones to buy.
And again, this is a test. If there is too much fraud, we will stop this offer. again.
What do you think?

Comments

The option is taken off again, due it resulted in sales drop. There will be an other preview option, but it can take a while, because Zoltan has or lot of editing work and traveling to shootings.

Yes, Vimeo is the problem. Reducing streaming resolution isn't possible. It's also not possible to add thumbnails. It's a mess.

Any preview quality would suffice. It was really annoying clicking small icon image only to see some generic channel trailer before. So I agree and would go step further - even 320x240 would be enough :D. But I guess it might not be possible to lower quality as it is probably still the same video that is being offered for the full price from Vimeo's point of view.

Okay, I checked out a few of these sample videos last night. In a nutshell: I think these will work just fine. Is there a way that this system could be taken advantage of? I've no doubt of that, even though I haven't looked to see if there's a way to circumvent the system and download the videos. If this is a big concern (and it does appear to be), then I have a couple of suggestions that should help: 1. Lower the resolution further. Sure, they aren't the full 4K resolution, but they're still pretty good looking for just samples. They could be taken down to a 1080p or 720p equivalent and still get across the gist of what the full-resolution version has to offer. This has the added benefit of using less bandwidth, as well. 2. Crop to just the left (or right) view. This way, the potential poacher wouldn't be able to download the video for use in a VR headset and get 3D out of it. Also, half the pixels means considerably less bandwidth used. So if you combined both suggestions, A) you would severely cut down on the bandwidth used by streaming these sample videos, B) you would severely limit what a fraudster could do with downloaded versions of them, and C) you would still be giving the legitimate users enough of a sample to decide which full versions of the videos they want to purchase. Those are my thoughts. I hope they help. ☺️

Speaking for myself, I think this is a fantastic idea! I've been wanting some way to see either short clips or several screenshots of each video so that I can better estimate if it's a video I want to pay for. I'll likely give this a try later tonight and let you know my thoughts. Thank you!
