IMPORTANT Announcement Addition
Added 2022-09-03 10:05:08 +0000 UTCOK, some are very sad about my last announcement.
I have decided to maintain existing VR-Amazons distributions, to remove bugs and polish them up if possible. Maybe also add features.
I can imagine to continue working on VR-Amazons in a casual way, more like a hobby, and to distribute very irregularly. (I know, the last months were irregular already ;-) )
I ask you for your ideas how this could work on Patreon?
A first idea from me would be: I create a pure VR-Amazons support tier (maybe 3$ ?, If you are a millionaire or close to it you can choose a higher one, everything helps).
New releases will still need the $10.-tier to download, but I can see long term supporters and send them a direct message with the download link.
Please comment. Thanks a lot. Also please report me bugs I should take a closer look to.

Lower subscription fees for products with a long dev cycle are not unheard of. Virt-A-Mate for example takes just 4$ per month for the "Entertain" level (which gives the user permission to watch scenes and make changes to them but not create their own, which requires a more expensive tier) and their version 2.0 has been in development for a long time now without any release so far. And yet everyone is patiently waiting for what's to come and keeps paying. Simply because 4 bucks don't hurt as much as 20 and everyone can stay in the loop. So the slow burn approach for lower fees definitely works and seems very reasonable to me. Glad to hear we were able to change your mind btw, would have been bad to receive no more VRA updates at all. I don't mind infrequent releases with some longer waiting times at all, given the sub pricing is reasonable and that there are regular progress updates provided to keep me in the loop on what is planned for the next update and how far it is along. As for bug reports, I am pretty sure I had sent you an extensive list in the past, which should mostly be up to date. As far as potential feature improvements are concerned, the thing I would like to see most is an expanded controller support, so that other mechanisms besides the XBox Controller are recognized and supported in all distributions. The sci-fi module had rudimentary support for Vive-style controllers and was even partially working with my Index Knuckles. The things it enabled, like being able to jiggle boobs and pose the captain's wrists, resulting in properly reacting muscle movement in relation to the motion, was actually incredible and I was hoping to see more of that in the future. Made it feel so much more interactive. It would also be great to ensure that, no matter which controller is used, keyboard always works regardless. I can vaguely remember that this wasn't the case in all distributions, sometimes the presence of an XBox controller would disable its equivalent keyboard commands. Ensuring keyboard always works expands compatibility, because even if a controller is used that supports not all of the available mappings, one could then still use the keyboard as a fallback for the missing ones. Or, even better, a software like Voice Attack to bind key presses to voice commands and is thus enabled to use every function except for moving around easily and hands-free.

2022-09-03 15:31:54 +0000 UTCPatreon is probably fine, so long as you inform everyone up-front that releases and updates to your software will be infrequent, so they shouldn't expect regular, monthly updates. Otherwise, you may want to consider shifting to another platform and monetization scheme entirely. For example, you could start an Etsy (or something similar) storefront where you sell each software individually for a higher price than the Patreon subscription tiers. Release updates and bug fixes to each one for free to justify the higher price to the consumer, while not allowing refunds.
