Factorio Space Age Save Games & Blueprints

UPDATE: This post is updated after each YouTube Episode with the Blueprint Book
Factorio Space Age is releasing 21st of October and there will be a ton of coverage on both YouTube and Twitch.

I have had access for a month and have been creating content for a week, so if you want to catch up then I suggest starting with the playlist on YouTube for the Lets Play: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV3rF--heRVtEiOK1dCD912g9Jn8pG-QA

For myself and for you to get the best possible start to the Space Age (i.e. going to space) I have prepared a Save Game in Space Age ready for you to use.

This is available to Patreons here along with other Save Games from my Twitch/YouTube series:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EWOsHpJo9T0s9vAHnfusldrgGyAAKMKN?usp=sharing

<< New Link - January 2025 >>

I am also building a Blueprint book that will contain designs I come up with both on YouTube and on Twitch. This is updated regularly in this post:

https://factoriobin.com/post/gedgaa (Episode #71)

You can also find these links on Discord if you link your Patreon and Discord profile in the channel #patreon-save-games along with all the other save games from previous games/series

Thank you very much for your support. I hope you enjoy Space Age as much as I am

PS: I've been using my Base-In-A-Book designs to build the starter base. It works 99% and they are available here: https://factoriobin.com/post/9PHUOmc5/0 (Phase 1)

EDIT: A couple of people have requested earlier versions of the Blueprint Book be made available. I will try to keep this list updated as well:

Factorio Space Age Save Games & Blueprints

Comments

Can someone tell me if there is a savegame from the Self-Expanding Base? I would love to have a look on this project.

Chris.his.pufferfishs

i don't find the link to the twich save game series (the one should be named : Megabase 02e4.6) any help please ? EDIT : it's on Nilaus discord, (you need to synchronize patreon account and discord account) and a "patreon-save-games" chanel appears

Dayzi

i was wondering the same

Stephen Clemensen

anyone knows where the latest blueprints are (eg. 240/s purple science)

null null

I've noticed a bug in Factorio Space Age that manifests itself in one of your blueprints. Under Nauvis, the "Build Anything" blueprint has a circuit connection on the output bulk inserter that doesn't have to be connected to anything. With that there, despite no connection, the inserter will still read the contents of whatever logistic network it is in for the purposes of enabling and disabling.

Derek Fordyce

no more save of Twitch ?

Y Franchi-Alfaro

Maybe I',m overlooking it but I can't seem the find the Vulcanus lubricant blueprint for making the green belts

Justin OH

I was looking through your blueprint book and could not find that legenderise upgrade planner you always use. I know I could make it myself but it would be a nice addition to the book.

wdl1908

hey Nilaus you should add a constant Combinator blue print with all of your set requests to the Blueprint book

Evan Fitzgerald

Thank you very much. It is working perfectly! Also, thanks to Nilaus for the amazing series and incredibly useful blueprints.

Francisco T.

a green wire from a roboport with read logistic network contents to the input of a decider combinator and then a red wire from the output of a decider combinator to the arithmetic combinator input

SempaiPanda

Hello everyone, I am a beginner Spanish-speaking player, please excuse me if I make any spelling mistakes. The blueprint to recycle the excess in the modules, what connection to my network does it need, how can I make it work because if I connect the requesting chest to a roboport, everything I have on the network is sent to that chest.

Francisco T.

Hey I just wanted to drop a note of appreciation and encouragement. I have found that I like factorio, but I really ENJOY watching and listening to your let's play guides, and then following along in my own games. You've made my experience really enjoyable, and I just wanted to tell you thank you. I can only imagine all the *work* that it is for you to design/play, edit videos, upload videos, manage websites, and patreon stuff and all the other tedium of behind the scenes things. Just wanted to tell you your efforts aren't wasted. Well done! You've stayed efficient and your following has grown!

J.R.C

You can quickly toggle the "Enable/Disable" circuit condition for the inserter feeding the reactor to give it an initial cell or two and bring it up to 500C+. Otherwise it'll do it itself when accumulators drop a bit.

Peter Wemm

In the Outer Planet Frigate v5 blueprint, how do you kickstart the nuclear reactor to generate power? Building over Nauvis.

Nolimitz26

Oddly enough I must have deleted the link. Added it again, but here it is also: https://factoriobin.com/post/9PHUOmc5/0

Nilaus

It would be nice to have it

Malon

theres no link to your base in a book, its just blank

KnownSaturn

yes please!! Seems to be missing in your text above :)

Simon Bishop

uploaded together with the newest designs for todays episode

Nilaus

waiting on this also :)

Michael Blake

Nilaus, Using the LDS shuffle method: Could the foundation's recipe in the Foundry with Legendary production modules be used to make legendary Iron ore and plates? Xor does Smelting legendary ore not result in legendary iron plates?

Timothy Crowe

I ran into this too I fixed this by adding a belt reader and a limit to the first row that eats the common asteroids each machine only takes an asteroid from the belt if there are >15 of the type it's processing so there's always a few left over for the ammo and fuel machines. After that I was able to run with the grinders upgraded to legendary and added some going down the right side to increase the throughput.

Rtkwe

What about the bitter eggs rocket launcher blueprint from episode 53? and the legendary stack inserter blueprint from previous episodes?

Xavier Baqués

My legendary coal/iron platforms from your blueprint keep running out of calcite to make fuel, and then they slowly run out of other things and get damaged. Is this because my asteroid processing research isn't high enough or do we need to manually feed fuel ingredients from the planets periodically to keep them going?

Landon Wilson

you miss to link your base in a book BP :) Can you share for us please :)

Pips Stellars

I love you Nilaus!!! ty so much for this information!

Tabzy!

Updated link for December in the post. Changing it on a monthly basis.

Nilaus

I can see them. They are all .zip though. Not sure if that is effecting anything

No need to display my name

The google drive of your saves seems to be empty! Anyone else?

Hank McCord

Would love to see the Lubricant blueprint for Vulcanus please :)

Blair Walton

I made it to the edge thanks to your ideas! A big big thank you for all the help and insight you provide!

Martin

There are some good Gleba blueprints on factorio.school , I used them to good effect for the copper and iron bacteria feeding, and a science generator. The problem with Gleba is that you have to generate the "overgrowth" soil to set up more and closer farms for the fruit, which takes doing some of the other stuff first

Josh A

Any chance we can get the science bus 240 item smelter builds for vulcanus in blueprint?

Devyn Kelley

Thanks for uploading a bunch of the VoDs to your other channel!

Glenn Morton

Connect a green wire to the "input" side of the combinator from a roboport so it "sees" the logi network

Jacob Thompson

Just a question for anyone who might know. When running the 'Ice Crean Van' between Nauvis and Vulcanus, does it only drop what is needed to make the logistics network hold the amount requested or does it empty the whole amount of everything each time it arrives? I have just moved my base and seem to have tons of stuff. Should I have the landing pad conned by a wire to something to allow it to see what is already in storage?

Jacqui Muir

When the resource platform is loaded one just one item(carbon on Aquila) it turns off ice and metal chuck gathering. They could be gathered and reprocessed for much higher output. Been trying to figure out how to do that so it will say balanced without using all of the ice or metal up.

Jacob Dill

I would like a "I don't want to do Gleba" blueprint. Everything all in one that has obvious "connect fruit, water, etc" here.

Chris Dzoba

Hi Nilaus. I just wanted to say that on Nauvis there are way to less logistic bots. its an easy fix but I wanted to let you know

Zylphix

I have figured out it myself, not so complicated to move some belts and inserters all works perfectly. As soon as You got bots - migrated to all You want assemblers (parametrized blueprint in Navis section)

Adam W

Alot of issues with the "base in a book" blueprints that you provided. For example stone misaligned to bus, and no updates for new recipes (power poles etc) would be nice if it made the starter items for space too like silo, platforms etc! I know I can just use your save game, but I wanted to build it myself lol.

SamsTechWorld

I didn't see it either, I grabbed it from his save. Hope that helps

Glenn Morton

Thanks for this! Is there a blueprint for coal liquefaction for Vulcanus? Would have been shown in ep 6.

Jessica Jones

Do you have base in a box blueprints for after red belts? Blue to endgame?

Jack Gay

Currently the Twitch VoDs on NilausTV only go up to the Nov 2nd stream. I find the twitch VoDs easier to watch on Youtube, will the rest of the series be brought to the youtube vod channel?

Glenn Morton

U just need a spot for the train to go so it doesnt block ur unloading if u have like 2-3 locations with the better miners that is fine for mee

Not Maik

Also Nauvis is stalled on stone because the empty train has no available stone loading station to go to. I might have deleted a trainstop at an empty stone patch that caused the stall, so you might just need to add another stone patch at some point.

Allen Chaney

In the Space Age E38e save, your sulfur production on Gleba stalled because there's spoilage on the belt where nutrients go. I just added a filter to that inserter so that it won't grab spoilage when nutrients spoil in the requester chest, but it stalled again because nutrients are spoiling on the belt and causing a jam. I was thinking about making an inserter pick up spoilage off the belt into an active provider, but only when nutrients on belt <30. Also, Chetzemoka is requesting more than its inventory can hold. Fulgora science stalled because the accumulator boxes are full of higher quality accumulators.

Allen Chaney

He is just using rate calc and that does not affect the blue prints at all

Not Maik

Okay thanks the interface helps, the icons was updated that i did not notice. I am assuming nilaus just added the rate calculator to help easier compute the rate. Thanks

Hanz Lao

The parameters feature is also vanilla, he turns it on in an earlier episode of the series. It can be enabled by going to Settings>Interface and enabling "Show parameters in selection list". The icons in the lower left were updated in the latest patch to new textures, the number of them enabled can be controlled with the very small button in the upper left of the toolbar.

Bryce Davis

The latest YT episode (#37), he uses the rate calculator. This is the first time he used it in the entire series so I'm assuming this is because he is entering the end game megabases. With the use of rate calculator, I am assuming he uses other non-gameplay changing mods (QoL) like changing his icons on the lower left as something else and the ability to use (as i previously mentioned) parameters on recipes (I was only able to replicate this by putting a placeholder recipe then changing them on the parameter blueprints)

Hanz Lao

That is vanilla. He is not using mods for YT series.

Connor

I can see that you are using QoL mods now (or you were doing it before as well) may I know which ones you are specifically using? Like I'm sure the parameters being available to set on ingredients isn't vanilla. I was avoiding mods to get all the achievements possible in 1 play through and I already did and am planning a mega base so I want to know which QoL mods (aside from the ones I already have saved) are you using

Hanz Lao

my hero <3

LikZ

Hey, Firstly, thanks alot for sharing your playthrough. I've been watching your videos for a while and it gave me the urge to start another game (I was getting to Gleba). One thing though... have you ever tried an "A" shape for your propulser? Instead of your favored "V" shape? IMO, O find it less spaghetti...

kraM

None of your ship designs can stay in orbit of Aquilo with out being destroyed. 2hr and they will defiantly have been destroyed. 2 Cl 5 freighters and an orbital platform. Ep 34 DL. Aquilo should have been a breeze with all the work you invested into my landing. Asteroids should not overwhelm the defenses. Not EVER! Care to blame the update? What is the point of watching, and paying for blueprints, if the publisher is just going to make them unplayable as soon as we attempt to use them? 7000 hrs of experience undone by one publishers good idea fairy implemented without a single iota of testing. Otherwise thank for the blueprints.

Timothy Crowe

Hi, the gleba "heating tower power plant" blueprint is misaligned with the substation grid btw

Thomas Kautzmann

Not sure if it's intentional, but the latest save (ep 35) includes the "Rate Calculator" mod

Timotheus

Thanks...I think I found it.

Chris Tettamanti

Yes on his youtube channel, he has linked it near the top of the post, you can follow along and use the blueprints he has provided if you're a patreon subscriber

Reecesman3

The hauler ships in the save file have a long-handed inserter to eject things off the left side of the ship which is missing from the blueprint

Ryan mack

Is there a video series to get to this point?

Chris Tettamanti

I found the Raynquist book that I think is at least close to what Nilaus uses. It even comes with a really nice FAQ and some examples for expanding to create your own balancers. It helped me understand it a bit more. I posted a link to it on discord in the blueprints channel to share my find. Here is the link to the book too: https://www.factorio.school/view/-ML5RsMXhj7tnbbzs02H

Glenn Morton

looking as well :)

LikZ

Can you add descriptions to the combinators on the space platforms? One of them isn't letting it proceed to the next planet but I haven't figured out what condition is preventing it emitting the C signal. I also spotted there's no plastic input on the Volcanis blue circuit, there's half an underground belt that needs connecting up

Tom J Nowell

the splitter BPs (as seen in E#29-31, e.g. evenly spreading 4 lanes into 8, for the rocket launch), are they available anywhere? can't find them in Base-in-a-book or the episodal book updates. Thanks

Salem Prompthous

I added a negative number filter to the cargo landing pad request circuit, since some planets (like gleba) sent negative values on the network that kept causing drop of ores and ammo from space. https://factoriobin.com/post/h44kjz

Greg Gaskill

Is your fancy wee green belt balancer book available? Also the information on pre loading rockets from episode #29 has massively helped me and the girlfriend in our playthrough to rely less on bot loading. A rocket or 2 for each item you produce at the end of a belt bus sped up thing soo much.

Lord Thanatos

Same thing from the smaller one on episode#10's bin

Jeremy Carlsten

Hey getting some errors when stamping down the Recycling Excess Modules from the episode#29 batch. Something like the following (cant copy paste though, so might be slightly off) Value must be a list or dictionary in property tree ROOT.blueprint.entries[x].control_behavior.decider_conditions.outputs

Jeremy Carlsten

I had this happening as well, wondering if the BP changed the circuit logic somehow or something. I fixed mine by building a inserter that throws rocks back into space.

Robes

I had to reconnect the wire and activate filter on the grabbers. Then it goes without deadlocks due to too much metallic astroids.

Ronny Eia

A problem I had, not using the bp tho. Is that i had read content on on the cargo bay. This made the filters wrong

John

This might be because of astroid productivity. Try chaning the amount of items that should be available on belts

Simon Balling

You can load up the save file and grab it from there.

Edward Lewis

Thanks for adding all the links! This is helpful going through the older videos.

Edward Lewis

Hi Nilaus, unfortunately I have the problem that your Space Science platform and all ships go into deadlock every few minutes. The belt stops turning because it is full and something can no longer be put down. What can I do?

Matthias Hampel

My Playthrough has some mods but I also tried to import it in a new unmodded game

Simon Balling

When importing the book, the orbital production space station is missing all gun turrets. Any idea why this is happening?

Simon Balling

Where is the Vulcanus refinery blueprint from episode 6?

Tomislav Pijanec

This would be amazing!

Alex

Legend. Thanks Nilaus, the older blueprints are very very welcome

Uhler Soth

any chance of getting the module quality upgrade bp?

jean-philippe gosselin

Is there a way to get your blueprints but divided by episode like you did in the base-in-a-book series? Loving the content!

Pedro Sánchez De Lozada

download the savegame and copy it from there

dr_Gonzo

I second this, oil especially if possible!

Devyn Kelley

There are 3 decider combinators on the right side of the ship, they look into both fuel types and ammo. They put out a green square if the requirement is met. So if all 3 put out a green square that means the ship is ready to go. So four your conditions use the Circuit condition, select the green square and set to = 3. Make sure your Space platform hub has the option "Send to platform" enabled. That was missing in one version of the blueprints, if I remember correctly

dr_Gonzo

any chance you can add your oil, plastic, rocket fuel, and low density builds from Vulcanas to your blueprints

Isaac j kok

If at all possible or unless I'm not seeing it could you have links to your blueprints on a per episode basis. I like to follow along on my own build. Also there are some instances that it is need to have a little build before the big build comes into play, and having all the blueprints would be helpful.. Thanks

Drazzilb

Just wanted to say thank you for all the great work. I've really been enjoying Space Age and your videos have really helped me prep for the going to each planet. I'd personally love a "starter base" blueprint for each planet. Probably something that only has tech available at landing in it.

Edward Lewis

hi there, i really loved the refinery setup on vulcanos from last episode, will it be available as a blueprint?

Miro

I'm relatively new to factorio (+ 400 hours in) and Circuit conditions, signals and combinators aren't my strong suit. In your Inner planet (and most likely outer planet freighter desings) what makes it "tick" i've tried to get it working but can't figure out what conditions to set up it with, other than "All request satisfied." What ended up happening it just looping none stop between 2 planets never stopping. any help here?

Granul

Loving the guides so far, but I started using the Space Science Platform "Blob", and it produces space science for a little while until it stops completely, the middle belt gets full and eventually ice gets stuck and isnt added to the loop, I have it copied exactly as it, is there a fix to this?

Zach

Thanks, fixed it in the new blueprints provided

Nilaus

I fixed that myself by moving the bottom chemical plants up one tile and rotating the water outputs to the outside. Was scratching my head at that as well

Joeri van Stappershoef

In the Outer Planet Frigate v2, the southernmost long inserters miss the chemical plant. Just to let you know :3

n o

oh thank you :)

germi nyu

afaik there are no updated old blueprints as the focus is SA at the moment, BUT the hub works to 99.9% the same. only changes you need to do is provide copper cable to the medium and large power poles instead of copper plates + switch the recipe for the stack inserters to bulk inserters, (they switched names). There are some empty machines because green/red wire, as well as filter inserters do not exist anymore but that's about it

dr_Gonzo

Hello ! Im new to join here :) have fun everyone ! ( just a quick question do you have some updated "old" blueprints -> i noticed some changes in the hub or maybye i dont have correct version )

germi nyu

I provide blueprints of designs I think are complete and do something useful. The Coal Liquefaction on Vulcanus is an eye sore that annoys me and that I should tear down and replace. So it is not of a quality that I would feel it belongs in my blueprint book. However, you have access to save games, so you can just load the save and grab a blueprint of it yourself (and improve it)

Nilaus

lol, came in now to check the same thing

Waldo Knoesen

Any chance we can get the coal liquefaction setup you designed on Vulcanus in the blueprints?

Srttechie

I've figured out how to do this for anyone that may want to do the same. Download the Someone's LUA Console mod (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/some-luaconsole) then use whichever of these commands you want to: Disable Cliffs: for _, v in pairs(game.player.surface.find_entities_filtered{type="cliff"}) do v.destroy() end Enable peaceful mode (biters wont attack unless provoked): game.player.surface.peaceful_mode = true If you want to change more, there's a list of commands you can use here: https://wiki.factorio.com/console. Note that you don't need to type '/c' at the start of any of them when using the LUA Console.

Alex J

Hey, I noticed that your using a different rail system with the unload station at the base instead of the base in a book?

MR T Gaming

Be on the lookout for any mods that do that.

Nipsu

You need to copy whole .zip file to saves folder - each save is one .zip file

Jan Krys

Hi - trying to use the saved game space exploration ready however after copying it to the correct location it says level.dat missing any ideas - only 1 .lua file in the saved games - anyone had this before

Dominic Heap

currently for first planet - Nauvis, blueprints haven't changed much. As Nilaus is focusing more on designing blueprints for other planets, which makes sense.

MoooooN

I've been using my Base-In-A-Book designs to build the starter base. It works 99% and they are available here: https://factoriobin.com/post/9PHUOmc5/0

Nilaus

Where would I find the latest base blueprint books similar to 0.18 Masterclass books?

Rakio

Same

Nick

Love your videos! Thanks!

Jake Daley

Hey man! Is there an update to the HUB blueprints for Space Age / 2.0?

André Castelo

I am in the same space of mind as you Lukas, would really like the BIAB blueprints fixed for 2.0

Bill Franklin

I understand, but it is not very high priority for me right now as all the non-Nauvis designs are more interesting. You can grab the designs for stations and intersections I use in my Space Age base. That should get you going

Nilaus

No. You have to generate the map without cliffs

Nilaus

Would really love updated BIAB blueprints with curved rails etc - looking at the save game and the blueprints - there are quite a few changes it seems

Lukas Jankauskas

Is there any way to remove cliffs and biters from the save without disabling achievements

Alex J

The base-in-a-book blueprints haven't been changed. There's minor changes to recipes so far, only one i've had to update was the big electricity towers using copper wire instead of plates, so you can use BIAB till you've caught up with the youtube episodes

Waldo Knoesen

yes same size

Waldo Knoesen

these features are implemented as optional mods. go to mods and enabled them.

Vincent Beelte

Have (or will be) any been updated to reflect some of the changes to recipes?

Mitch Patterson

Any luck? I’m going to try here in a few hours

Roger C Brendecke

When I try to use the space age ready save game, I get the following error about mods not being installed.. (quality, elevated-rails, space-age) despite having installed and upgraded to 2.0 etc.. https://imgur.com/a/2cQY51w

Gareth Price

I'm avoiding as many spoilers as I can, but is Nilaus' city block layout grid the same size in 2.0/Space Age as it was in 1.x?

Scott Frazer

My older blueprints are available here: https://nilaus.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PM/pages/1605635/Factorio (Base In a Book, Megabase in a Book and Master Classes)

Nilaus

How do you get the vanilla blueprints for space age?

Patrick Cooper

My older blueprints are available here: https://nilaus.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PM/pages/1605635/Factorio (Base In a Book, Megabase in a Book and Master Classes)

Nilaus

I'm assuming the base-in-a-book is not included in the Space Age blueprint book. Will check as soon as i we're ingame --edit: no changes made, book is useable, works well so far :)

Waldo Knoesen

Can't wait, Lets go! Thanks for all the content you produce.

Daniel
