Added 2020-04-28 09:23:55 +0000 UTCHere two simple facts about our fighting process: 1) we are rewriting the whole concept of fighting process for the third time now (yeah, the whole evolution) and, 2) we are re-coding from scratch for about seventh time by now, in order obtain the best result.
Why is it so hard? Let me explain this evolution step by step:
First our concept was turn-based fighting. That was the most simple to make, but it wasn't too smooth and exiting and not “mind-exploding” enough, LOL.
So our second concept was real-time fighting. And we worked a lot around that, being inspired by the For Honor game.
But the final result wasn't too perfect again, because it was slower than expected which spoiled the feeling of excitement.
Anyway, I am not trying to create a game which tests how fast your instincts are, ha-ha. Our game should give a chance for those who can't beat all in MK or SF (I never was able to beat the computer because of my slow instincts, LOL).
So because of that, in the end we decided to combine both ways to make the fighting smart and good-looking and exciting at same time.
As I mentioned before, for one type of weapon (shield and sword or sword only) we made about 85 animations.
I must say that our Lead Artist Monsant has very high standards about animations, he is a harder judge than Judge Dredd, to be honest! Sometimes our Animation specialist has to re-do an animation three times over in order to entertain him.
Our Lead Artist Monsant has a very sharp eye. Let's check do you have same eye as him? He said once that he feels like he is living in the world where most of the people consider that Keanu Reaves is a good actor. That was shocking to me, because in my head he was just great actor. But in Monsant's view Keanu has only very modest actor's skills... (We are of course only talking about his acting skills, not about films and camera-man's work or plots or martial arts and so on. Or how nice a person he is in real life. Haha!)
Dear Patrons, let's do a small experiment to check how many of you have usual eye (as me) and how many of you have the sharp eyes of Monsant's:
Is Keanu a good actor?
