While it’s sad what that she may never get to see Mae Mobley ever again, Aibileen got a chance to live her own life and become a writer just like she always wanted.
I used to watch this with my older sister all the time as a kid and she would always tell me “you is smart.. you is kind… you is important.” Still gets to me now.
And in history our teacher played the chocolate pie scene for our unit on civil rights because he found it hilarious but also a good talking point about racism.
