Repairs and upgrades

Hey folks,
It's been a quiet week from me online but the reality couldn't be more different.
My good friend Paul has once again opened his doors to me, Lance & Amber and has let me start on some of the much needed repairs and upgrades the van needs before we continue forward.

I've ripped out the old sink as it had started to leak and go bad. The new version is made from aluminium, would you beleive almost entirely from the left overs from the slaphead that are still here. Some offcuts were even the right sink width! Bonus.
So that's almost done.
We've also torn Amber's arse clean off and have begun extenting the chassis legs in order to build a tow hitch!
Being an Ambulance, the last sections of Amber's chassis was modified to hold the rear tail lift, which has created some headaches in making the tow hitch.
But Paul is a master of his craft and had just begun adding sections in, and in a wonderful turn of events, not only have we managed to remove huge bits of rusting metal left from the tail lift, but we've managed to bring the chassis out to almost as far as the spare wheel (once cut down) meaning I can make a number of weight holding things at the rear.
a step, bench, winch mount, bike carrier, extra luggage... Who knows!

Jobs still to do are:
Replacing diff and gearbox oil.
Welding the new D/S sill and step in
Bleed brakes.
Build new rear panel from ally.
Sort out a wobbly headlight.
See if the air suspension can be simplified and maybe even find the dread 4 year old air leak.
Steam clean the water tank (now removed) & fix its level sensor.
And fit everything back up.

There will be videos on most of this coming up as well as a catch up video from our quarantine after Portugal right upto now, but with everything going on at the moment I'm just a little swamped.
I was joking with Paul as we arrived stating "I need to tackle one job at a time this time"
1 hour later 7 jobs were all on at once, and with no water tank or sink, that makes washing interesting 😂 but thankfully Paul has a sink and water here. he really is a bit of a life saver as when it comes to fulltiming in a van, fixing things and taking on big projects on your home/vehicle can get extremely difficult and stressful.
Once this is done and we're out, the next task is also chassis related, but finding a while other chassis for the trailer! :

Yes it's currently sat at Am-Bol-East & I am SO PISSING EXCITED ABOUT IT! 😀
