Summer Down Time

Hey folks,

This message should have gone out a few days ago but a slight oversight on my behalf meant it was scheduled to go out for 1/7/2026. 😂

As I type I'm heading north up the Iberian peninsula to catch a ferry to the UK.
Hopefully I will see some of you at the handful of events I'm attending during my time over there.
After 3-4 years of returning to the UK only for Xmas/winter, I'm looking forward to a summer visit, and although hot for you UK dwellers, for me it'll be a nice mild summer lol.

To experience this time to it's fullest, and focus on what to make next without feeling the need to rush out half-baked content, I've took the decision to take some downtime from video making.

This is something that I have struggled with in the past. The online world ever increasing in speed & output requirements, seeing other creators scramble and pump out content while you feel the need to stop to take a breather can be extremely unnerving.
But I've come to understand and accept that taking personal time as n when needed is how I need to be for my own well being, retrospection and the continuation of the genuine joy of what I do.
(This is starting to sound AI written 😆, I promise you it isn't)
I get huge bursts of creativity and ideas that only come when I'm able to take my time and see a project through before showing it to anyone.
I don't mind telling you that on the flip-side I also get huge bouts of creative block and uncertainty in what I'm doing.
Case in point: Italy was entirely filmed and the trip was over before you saw any of it.
I can look back at that series and feel proud of what I made. The recent VanDock stuff, although I worked as hard and they have some laughs in them, truthfully I can't say the same.

I'm exploring if I am fighting a tide that's trying to tell me something. It's not to give up, I know that much, but perhaps a new direction, so I'll stop swimming for a bit and "go with the flow".

I know this will be disappointing to some of you who enjoy logging in and seeing a new video each week, I'm sorry. Others can pump out content and steamboat forward, I can't.

I'd like to stress you won't be charged a penny during this down time.
The service pause went into effect on the 29th and will only be restarted when something is uploaded and ready to watch.
Some of you may see a charge this month, that will be for the previous month as each of your payment dates are the date you signed up.
If you have recently signed up and been charged please let me know and I will happily issue a refund.
Any other issues regarding subscriptions, you can contact me (on here please so I can easily access your details) or Patreon support.

I will still have my camera out, still capture what I'm up to and will still be working, hopefully resulting in something nice, new and long-form for you soon, but I'd also like to explore some other ideas I've had stored in the back of my brain for a while that each year get pushed back to "ehhh I'll look into that soon".
E.g. stories/scripts. 😬

Finally thank you again to each and every one of you who are here and support what I do.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, to have ANYONE, let alone the amount of you on here willing to support my work (and by work I mean silly videos of myself and my dog face-planting through life) is not something I take for granted, and is the reason I could not live with taking payment whilst not delivering my end of the deal.
I appreciate and respect every one of you.
