I want to explore games as a storytelling format someday! This tiny unnamed one's from a concept originally scripted for a bigger game.
It's a repeated battle with an "enemy" throughout an implied RPG. He's secretly supporting you, and your first run-in is his tutorial! Your actions (or inactions) change his disposition as we jump between encounters (ex. after losing at Lv. 1, after leveling up some, after beating the final boss). A few minutes long overall, inspired by unscaled level areas in Pokémon and moral choices in Undertale.
Narrative with minimal gameplay certainly gives off visual novel vibes — do I need a romance path in principle? (haha) Anyways, I might write more in the future for those interested in these random, experimental projects!
