Hello there
Hope you are all good and well after the long weekend, and here I am with some art. It's been a loooong time since I did any pointillism ink drawing, so let's put that right.
I'll say right off the bat that I am playing with fire here. Those of you who have been here a while will remember the last time I drew vintage Star Wars figures, that I promised that I wasn't going to carry on after drawing the original 12.
This has been proven to be incorrect, but I am drawing a specific set. Namely the Bounty Hunters from The Empire Strikes Back. Like most little boys, I was fascinated by these blink-and-you'll-miss-them characters, mainly compounded by their 3 inch plastic incarnations. Pretty much every one of them was offered as a mail-away figure, where you had to cut out name plates from figure cards and send them off.
That's certainly how I got Boba Fett and certainly how I got the subject of today's drawing, Dengar.
So, I'm going to draw the six bounty hunter figures, in my own time, and put them together in a similar way to the original 12 piece that is on my Etsy store. I was very worried it wouldn't get any interest, particularly as the size of the prints made it essentially cost prohibitive, but I wanted one for myself (mine is in my kitchen in a massive frame).
Luckily, it turned out to be a best seller over the Christmas period, which was a massive relief, and has led to me surely ruining it by making a similar one with the bounty hunters.
Still, we only regret what we don't do (absolute nonsense saying that is)...
I don't actually own these figures any more (regretfully really, I'd probably like having them displayed as a set), so I'm working from several reference pics from - mostly - Ebay. You know, like all the great artists do?
Here's the progress pics and final piece of the Kenner/Palitoy Dengar figure from 1980. Which my grandad told me about, I was surely not born yet.

And six hours (yup) and a rather bad back (yup) later...we have;

Oh I've never accidentally included a peak at the next cab off the ranks have I? That is typical me that.
Hope you are easing back in gently over there (not like that) and all is well, happy and refreshed for you.
Lots of love coming atcha
