Another Bounty Hunter Addition

Hello there

After a day of overwhelming pitch back and forth yesterday, I decided to spend the evening doing some drawing.

Always nice and relaxing that is, and I was pretty confident that this particular Bounty Hunter figure would be an easier one to do.  Ten hours later, and I was frankly cursing IG-88.  How is this so hard to draw?  It was though.  Took so long and I fell into bed at 6am never wanting to hear the name IG-88 again.

I like it though.  There were some moments in the progress where I think it looked properly cool, even incomplete.  Particularly when I added the black block shapes before the detailing, in a switch around from my usual routine.

All the progress pics are below, so you'll see them in there.

As I mentioned yesterday, I don't really know how to do the descriptive text for these pics, as it is just all adding dots, but it's basically me doing thousands of them to make a picture of a vintage Star Wars figure of a lanky assassin droid.

All of which stupid dottage has finally led us to this point...

Two down... four to go.  You're probably expecting Boba Fett last.  He won't be.

I'm not great at teasers.

Hope you're having a wonderful week over there, and that the sun is shining despite all the stupid clouds

Much love to you

They're all pretty ace in the relatively recent War Of The Bounty Hunters comic series, and I do think they are a rich mine that remains under-served. Dengar was in the last film apparently, but is now mostly a droid. I've not got up to whatever happened there, and doubt I ever shall! The version of the IG droid in Mandalorian was brilliantly Brough to life too.

Thank you sincerely

Wow, damn nice drawing!

Boba Fett aside, who got more prominence in the original trilogy (and later the prequels and TV series), IG-88 was always the most compelling of Empire’s bounty hunters to me. There’s something genuinely scary about the image of that spindly, completely non-human machine relentlessly chasing you down, like the ending of the first Terminator when Arnie’s had all his flesh burned off and is reduced to a metal skeleton that just keeps coming, with the weird stop-motion jerky movement making it even more scary.
