Cabin Fever 30 April 22

Hello there

Right, messages received and understood.

There was an absolute outrage at the missing autoharp in last week's Cabin Fever, so I made sure to do a bit at the end of this one.  I've just done my proof-listen though and I'm afraid it was awful.

That's the thing that suffers the most when I record daft late, and it needs all the help it can get at the best of times.  But I at least showed willing.  Not like that.

Anyways, you're probably all on your way to Blackpool for the weekend, so this won't get listened to.  Which is absolutely ok, and I do hope you have a lovely time.

Sending you lots of love as always

He's an amazing ace up my sleeve for any and all frustrations

The reply from Rocky is really funny. Maybe that will end up being the main storyline!

I got the email through for your last post so have no idea what happened there! Just wanted to assure you that I hadn’t removed it!!

Patreon ate my last post, which is maybe a sign that I talk to much, but that wasn't exactly the point I was trying to make; maybe I phrased things badly. I was pushing back a little (and as I write this I realize it might sound kind of aggressive, which I swear isn't my intention!) the tendency I see to treat artistic work as essentially above other kinds of work. So, for example, I'm a professor; and if I come to work drunk, and swear at my students and then pass out, I'm a bad professor and that was a bad lecture. If an electrician accidentally burns down a client's house, he probably was a bad electrician, and he certainly did a bad job. If a stand-up comedian tells shit jokes, on the other hand, we suddenly get told that he can't really be shit, but ... why? Can comedians, and movie directors, really not be judged by the standard of every single other profession, i.e. based on their output? I dunno, maybe I was responding to something that wasn't even in your post. But thanks for the response!

Gregory
