Group Sex - Concept Art Plans

Hello there

Right, this is going to get tiresome - I'm getting a message from Patreon every time I post about this project as it thinks it's pornographic content.  As I explained yesterday, it's not that.  They're just cartoon characters talking about it. 

I mean, I don't even swear on here...

So here is the concept art I did on Sunday for (some of) the characters appearing in the adult animation comedy thing. There's also some concept pieces for what the actual building is going to look like.  I'm very torn on that, as I keep flipping between wanting something very run down and something re-appropriated.  I'll explain when we get there.

Let's have a little look at what I did...

I don't know how easy it will be for you to view the bits I've written on these pics, but it's all basically notes to myself.  That's what happens when you get to my age.  You can't be trusted to remember anything.

So this was the concept art for if the group leader is a bloke (still unsure), and none of these really look how I'd been imagining him when I've been writing. I had a sort of Woody Allen/Dr Katz image I think.  Something a bit neurotic and anxious.  In the middle you'll see a Rob Reiner-esque alternate, which I really like.  Could possibly make it a bit more laid back if I take that route maybe. There is a clash with another character if I make him overly rotund though (see later).

These are a few play-abouts with the building, taken from real places but mucked around with.   This is another real quandary, as I want the area to be run down, but I think each of these buildings are very different, giving off different things,  yet they're all equally credible.  I do certainly want a good chunk of area for outside so I can animate various bits of mischief in the car park.  Ruffians messing about and smashing bottles, that sort of thing.  I'm not married to any of these yet, but I do think it will be one of them. Possibly a mix of two.

These are for the character of Jess.  All of the (speaking) characters are deeply flawed and sexually forthright, but this is the only one (so far) who has a bit of confident sassiness about them. Again, the two different versions are equally credible for this character, so this might be another coin toss. There's no need for any of them to be a certain age or anything, it'll just be what aesthetically fits best when the group is assembled.

These are options for Curtis.  I say options, there's not an awful lot of difference in them, I know.  I left in the reference pic so you can see where I was pulling inspiration from (and to deter anyone thinking I'd just drawn Phil Ellis - google him if you don't know).  In the early bits of script I've already written, the dialogue revolves primarily between Curtis and Jess (although this will even out), who are constantly contrary and at each other's throats.  It is obvious pretty quick that they are also at it with each other on the sly.  In fact, all the characters are at it with each other on the sly.  It's a very unsuccessful group.

Finally, this is Terry (all these names are place holders, I'm awful at coming up with names). Terry never speaks, and has very limited animation (it's just eyes, mouth, and eyebrows), so I had to make him rather cumbersome to justify his stillness. All the characters have very limited animation, but they move their arms and heads about. Not Terry though, he's basically just plonked down, whilst everything goes on around him. As I explained yesterday, he does have a huge contribution in the structure of the shows though, as each one begins with the group leader saying "So, last time, we heard from Terry who was saying..." and then there's a ghastly recap of the horrors he is into. That's also why I am aiming to make him look very innocent and unlikely.

And that's all I got done on Sunday.  As I said before, this is very much a hobby/background project that I'm making minimal additions to in my spare time. Just bear with me whilst I sit and laugh maniacally at the very concept that I presently have "spare" time.

It's unlikely to be a regular addition on here, but perhaps semi-regularly.  Because I've no interest in voicing anything in it, it's not really the sort of thing I can just put a rough cut together of one day and then whack it up here, but there's a decent chance it will just appear, all finished at some point, and you'll be amazed, appalled and confused as to when I did it.
