Sunday Art Post

Hello there

Sooooo, really limited in my movement presently due to this stupid, depressing, ongoing, slow-moving-if-at-all, stone migration catastrophe.  Again, won't bang on about it, but it's not been plain-sailing (of course).

Anyhow, I was missing doing art to be honest, so decided to have a few cracks at some digital stuff.  Two of these were actually from pictures I took of some toys, which I happened to see on my patreon scrolling whilst continuing to do the index/contents page (it's the Batman one and the Stormtrooper one).

They've all been done on the Procreate programme, and I had a play about with different brushes and the like.  It's hardly the most elaborate of my art posts, but it's a little something for you to have a look at, should the mood take you.

All of it is a bit stylised which I never usually do, so nobody is claiming to be an expert here...

That's Donald Duck that.  Just all slapped on though.  I think I'd actually really like to be able to do stuff like this practically at some point.  I think it'd be satisfying.

Hmmmm yes, of course, this is from the Hot Toys figure of Michael Keaton as Batman I see.  Hmmm yes, this is an interwesting piece in this gallery of course. (I am doing a character) Interwesting that the textures on the suit give an almost organic feel to the composition, and the mayhem around the neatness of the badge represents the mayhem of the character itself of course. And interwestingly, what seems to be rain in the background, is of course in the colours of Batman's arch-nemesis The Joker, which is a subtle allusion to how that villain spoils a situation of course.

Probably needs some work my art gallery character...

These are the singing busts from the Haunted Mansion, which I am a big fan of.  Far more of a fan that this slapdash effort would imply, but - again - I was enjoying not working neatly.  I think I'd like to do more art around the singing busts, despite the fact that the Hitch-Hiking Ghost art I did is the lowest seller on my Etsy store.  Genuinely thought they'd fly out, but barely touched.  Same with the Little Shop Of Horrors portraits too actually.  It's always the things I like.

I think this is my favourite one.  I just kept adding more and more layers onto it, which is normally a daft thing to do, but I was enjoying the colours which we can view as either a woodland area or a Christmas Stormtrooper.  It was meant to be a woodland area.

So there we are, Art from the invalid to keep the Sunday post ticking over.  I've finally opened my Cricut machine, that I bought nearly a year ago, but haven't plugged it in yet.  Tiny steps, but I definitely want to have tried using it by the end of the year (it's a vinyl cutter machine thing that I can cut accurate shapes and stencils with).

Hope your weekend has been brilliant for you, there's still some left so use it wisely please.

Much love
