Vinyl Cutter

Hello there

FINALLY!  It has happened!  I got my Cricut machine up and running and learnt a bit about it...

I do mean "a bit" as well.  I filmed the day as video diary, coming in at a whopping 23GB of footage (I've really got to sort that out, it's the GoPro that's the main offender), which I have edited down for you into ten mins of me knocking about the house.  We even cover two days...

There's a chance that tomorrow will be a "contents" day - where I add to the contents pinned post so it's easier to negotiate the post.  Haven't done that for a while and I could do with something relatively mindless.  We shall see though.  I might feel differently when I'm less tired.  I got up silly early this morning, as you will see...

Hope your week is going great guns for you.  The contents of the above video have opened a massive Pandora's box for me, but I think that's a good thing.

Sending all the love

xxxxxxxxxx

Haha - I also saw them in hobby craft for ages and was baffled by them. They seemed to be mainly for folk to make wedding invitations, but as soon as I saw I could make stencils with them I was in. I also don't have room for it, I assure you, but I've binned the box now so it's on top of a book shelf cluttering the place up. I shall never tire of doing Ada x

I'm already disheartened because of how hard it was to cut acetate, but I suspect there is a setting in there for something else that might do it. The acetate settings are - presumably - for a much thinner acetate. Who would have thought I'd ever write a comment reply with the word 'actetate' in it so many times?

Love my Cameo cutter - it takes a little bit of time to dial into how best to use with different materials/techniques, blade settings etc but you can get so much out of them. Look forward to seeing your creations!

So that’s what those machines do! Have seen them in hobby craft but wasn’t clear about their function. Great to see it in action. (Note to self: Di, you don’t have room and you also have enough craft projects lined up to last at least a decade ….). Loved Ada as well 😁 x
