Sunday Art Post

Hello there

I've only just finished this.  This is proper hot off the press.  Or tired off my drawing board.

First though, after the huge success of my Boba Fett picture from last week, let's have my artistic effort from this week's episode of The Book Of Boba Fett...

I probably could have done a better job of that but I had the idea right before I fell asleep on the day it came out and battled through doing it.  I just copied it really.

Anyway, onto today's extra special art project, which has been staring at me for weeks now.  Tonight I finally did it, and if either of the subjects aren't happy with it then they can throw it in the bin or get cosmetic surgery to look more like it.  The hair alone was a tumultuous experience for me.  Well, one of them anyway.  The other one took about thirty seconds.

So, this is Barry and Nicki Gwilliam, who some of you will know in real life.  Barry is the one who has ParaPod tattoos ruining his leg.  They got married last year, after several postponements (because of the law - they weren't having issues), and I was too poorly to attend.  Which still makes me sad, but I did tell Barry I would happily do them a portrait as a present if they would like.  He said yes, probably not really thinking, and sent me a picture he liked over.

Then, as I said, I spent a long time thinking "Oh I really must do that!" before spending days drawing some popular culture feat. 

Here it is now though, along with its own art post as well.  Just so they can see what I went through to get it done.  It was made even harder by the fact that Barry himself kept interrupting me with messages, but we got here in the end...

Here's the progress and the final piece.  I was genuinely was surprised by how long it took me.  Maybe my drawing is getting slower.  That's a few now that have taken an age...

And the picture that shall be sent to them recorded by first post on Monday is...

For the record, this is exactly what the original picture looks like and I shan't accept any debate from them on it.

In all seriousness, I do hope they like it and it was a pleasure to do.  I really won't be offended if it's sneaked into the bin, just as long as they know it was done with love.
