Weekly Weird:2012-2022 (A Decade of Way Walker University)

This is a really hard thing to talk about in so many ways. On one hand, we are deeply proud of how far the Way Walkers: University has come since J first began writing and publishing it a decade ago. Since Mac *officially* came on-board in 2020, we have made some significant progress. On the other hand, we had hoped to celebrate this important ten-year anniversary by finishing Way Walkers: University’s final installment.

Unfortunately, this did not happen. This was a year of unique, serious health challenges for both J and Mac, and even with putting *EVERYTHING* else on the back-burner (Tazu Saga and the Clan Lands series, in particular) we still are deep in the writing and coding process for WW:U3.

This is not how we wanted this year to end.

The good news is that you all – our patrons – are the reason we keep going! Your love and feedback has been so inspiring. This year, we were aiming to release a chapter of WW:U3 as Playable Preview at least every other month, and we exceeded that goal with a current count of eight full chapters completed! And the reason we pushed through, as often as we could, is because we don’t want to ever let any of you down.

So… here we are, embarking on a new year. We are full of fresh hopes and determination. We WILL finish this sooner rather than later… Semryu won’t stop pestering us otherwise! (And then Jathen and Nari would like a word with us too after that LOL)

We are learning to value the fact that taking our time means we can hopefully give y’all the best version of WW:U3. The WW:U story has grown and matured, so much. And we are excited for what we have plotted ahead of us!

We are too superstitious at this point to promise anything firm but believe us– we are writing like crazy. (Mac would say we are writing like a m*****f***er, but not everyone has read this old advice column for writers and gets the joke)

More importantly, we realize that none of this would be possible without you– yes you! The financial support of our patrons has helped us keep writing despite mounting medical bills and expenses. We are deeply grateful to y’all for that.

Whether you have been a reader for ten years or just ten days– you have made a difference! Knowing that there are people out there all over this big strange world who are interested in our stories– our Way Walker family – that’s exactly what keeps us going when life gets dark.

So… as always, thank you for taking a Walk in our world. There are more adventures ahead, and we can’t wait to share them with you all <3 – J and Mac
