Thanks – and check your smoke detectors!
Added 2023-09-01 19:44:03 +0000 UTCMac here! Like J said in this recent post, I’ve been dealing with the unexpected emergency of a family house fire. I just wanted to thank everyone for being very understanding that this month‘s playable preview was a bit rougher than anticipated.
It’s been a scary couple weeks, with my mom recovering from a minor case of smoke inhalation — but it could have been much worse! The batteries in her smoke detectors died, and she was only saved by the quick thinking of a neighbor who saw smoke pouring out of the roof and pounded on her windows to wake her. The fire had already been going for almost an hour at this point, as far as we can tell.
So learn from our mistakes and check your smoke detector batteries, folks! And be nice to your neighbors — you never know what may save your life ;-)
(Also if anyone has any tips for getting the smell of smoke out of… well…. everything, please let me know.) Thanks again for the kind messages and understanding <3
