Way Walkers July Schedule

This month, we’re going to be shaking things up a bit! We are updating the format of our “Weekly Weird” posts so that they are shorter, maybe a bit weirder but actually weekly. Get ready for more frequent posts with “Did you know” facts, funny hypotheticals, and behind-the-scenes peeks at our writing and coding.

Instead of in-character answers to your questions, for this month, our Q&A theme is “Ask the Authors.” J created the Way Walkers world as a pre-teen, and Mac has been her favorite beta reader, sounding board and co-author since we met in college. Ask us anything, from our writing habits, to our personal fandoms, to our secret opinions on plot and character, to… well, you tell us! Ask us your questions in a comment here, on Discord, or in a DM.

Also, keep an eye out for new posts reminding you when the Q&A question period is ending and the poll for July’s Q&A theme begins. In the past, we used to make sure our Weekly Weird posts always fit the Q&A theme, but now the monthly theme will be for Q&A’s only because we want to give y’all more frequent Weekly Weirds.

It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to try out some new things, and we really appreciate your feedback. Let us know what works for you and what doesn’t – our goal is always to keep writing things that others enjoy!

There are a couple of pieces of code we are working at the moment, so we are not certain which will become the playable preview. But we will definitely be moving on to a different section after focusing on the complex-but-fun “Swap Poison” chapter for the past few months. (High Mages: play the newly updated preview here if you haven’t already! )

And as a side-note, if you’ve been hanging around the WW Discord you may have picked up on the general vibe that we authors (J and Mac) have been a bit stressed about our writing progress and overall time management. We are hoping that these changes to the posting format, though small, will be both more fun both for us to write and for y’all to read. We hope to increase our rate of code production as well, with our eyes firmly on the prize of finishing WW:U 3.

Yet nothing puts a smile on our face quicker than having one of our patrons like or comment on our work. Writing gives us life, and you make it possible for us to keep writing. Thank you, from the bottom of our nerd hearts, for taking a walk in our world!
