Girl Genius Comic for Wednesday, June 21, 2023

The Twitch stream was fun! I know some of you showed up for it, I saw names I recognized! I'm so grateful. Especially since later I went and looked at the analytics and saw how long I kept everyone up. Oops. I was so nervous I didn't have any idea how long I was going. Anyway, I'll do it again next Monday, and I hope to go a little quicker. Maybe I'll play on easy mode or harder mode just to see the difference.

Today I schlepped myself to our big medical theme park downtown to an appointment I've been worrying about for a while now. I won't go into detail, but it's always a relief when the specialist looks at your chart and essentially says: "Why are you here?" I have no idea, my other doctor did some tests and sent me to you. Anyway, I still have to get some other tests done, but it's nice to hear that things aren't as dire as they sounded. The last couple of months were a wee stressful while I waited for the appointment. Fun times.

My house smells amazing, I have a whole bunch of onions caramelizing in a crock pot. It smells so good. I've been working on them since yesterday so they should be done soon. I'll have to make a sandwich or something to eat them on. The rest will go into portions in the freezer and I'll cook with them.

Ok, I'm going to go take a rest now. The relief is starting to hit and I need to lie down for a bit. Thanks, all!

Next time, I'm sure! :D

Thank you for pointing that out. I’m embarrassed that I forgot Kaja mentioned it and also that I missed an opportunity to make my update even longer!

William Ansley

Update to your update: The title of Book 21 is now "An Entertainment in Londinium".

Le'letha

Page count update: With this page, 127, this "short adventure" is now longer than seventeen volumes of the main story line. It exceeds volumes 1 (Beetleburg Clank, 81 pp.), 2 (Airship City, 100 pp.), 3 (Monster Engine, 123 pp.), 4 (Circus of Dreams, 114 pp.), 5 (Clockwork Princess, 104 pp.), 7 (Voice of the Castle, 117 pp.), 8 (Chapel of Bones, 123 pp.), 10 (Guardian Muse, 126 pp.), 14 (Beast of the Rails, 120 pp.), 15 (City of Lightning, 120 pp.), 16 (Incorruptible Library, 122 pp.), 17 (Kings and Wizards, 120 pp.), 18 (Queens and Pirates, 119 pp.), 19 (Sparks and Monsters, 122 pp.), 20 (Exorcism Engines, 122 pp.), 21 (unnamed, 122 pp.), and 22 (unnamed, 121 pp.) in page count. This is counting only pages of story in each specific volume, not extra material, such as additional artwork or side stories, that might be included.

So actually a small dragon?

That's great news! An unexpected lack of bad news is always good. It's really a shame that you had to live with potential health concerns preying on your mind for such a long time, though.

Very glad the appointment went well! It's always good when the doctor isn't worried.
