It did not end well when she tried on the first pair; loud popping and tearing sounds came from the shoe before it finally gave up, not being large or strong enough for Megan’s size. The following few pairs did not bode well, all being too small; the disheartened Megan looked down at the clerk, who was still trying her best to find something that would work.
