I love these movies another good Clint Eastwood movie is Pale Rider . One of my all-time favourite Westerns is [ My name is Nobody ]

I feel like each movie in the trilogy focuses on introducing one character. The first one introducing Clint Eastwood, the second Lee Van Cleef, the third, Eli Wallach, and in each, the writing and performances put the spotlight on delving into that particular character. So in this one for example, Clint Eastwood's role has already been established, so Leone seemed to feel no need to give him much more character development or all the best lines. This was Wallach's story, hence he becomes the heart of the narrative arc. I quite admire that approach and it suggests there was a real plan behind the trilogy, rather than making sequels just because the first one was successful.
