The Haunting of Hill House EP#6 Reaction

The show does this thing where it gets increasingly better with each episode from the 1st to the 5th episode. I think the 5th is about as good as the 4th. But this one is just the peak of the show in every way. Everything about it is at its Max level and its so fricking amazing.

So happy you guys finally got to this episode! It truly is a masterpiece in filmmaking - and an absolute gut wrencher. I agree with Melissa - I love the parallel between Nell's ghost and mental illness; how it's so often overlooked, how signs are missed and often times, hidden away. I'm almost sad that it's nearing the end but also so excited for you guys to see how it all wraps up and connects. You guys are the best!

I love this ep sooo much! Not only does Nell's dialogue parallel her ghost self but it's also a parallel for talking about signs of mental illness as a whole and how often they're missed by those around them. It gets me every time.

to me, the most impressive one-shot was the moment the camera circles around the dad and we see the kids then the adults in their place. just that the switch had to happen so quickly and so precise. honestly though, any of the long one-shots in the past featuring the kids are inherently impressive to me for them to all consistently do so well.
