The late 60s - late 70s was an era where studios were making fairly classy, big budget horror films with some quite serious actors involved. Many people enjoy this sequel even more than the original, although personally I feel they are both equally good. I like the conflicted nature of Damien's realisation of his own power in this one, but I appreciate the overall feel of the first movie. The third movie is definitely worth a watch, although isn't considered quite as good by most critics.
