2021-05-03 23:49:10 +0000 UTCThis film.....this film.....this film is tremendous. I am unbelievably angry with myself that I am just watching it now for the first time. Unfortunately, I followed in Hollywood's footsteps and latched myself onto La La Land when this came out. Don't get me wrong, I still adore La La Land, but this film had something so unique to say. Plus, it's refreshing to see an LGBTQ film that refuses to turn its characters into caricatures. Despite the angry heteros and the drug-addled mother, they still have their own demons that they battle every day. The performances and the cinematography are on another level. The subtle physical nuances that exude intimacy, loneliness, and conflict......Ashton Sanders and Trevante Rhodes are monumental talents.......DUDE.......why did I not watch this film in theaters??? Hands down this is one of my most favorite reactions of yours, next to Ready or Not and Scream! Everything you said was on point and beautifully empathetic. Thank you for this gem of a reaction. Digging the absolute shit out of your Oscar Winner playlist so far. One of these days, there will be a movie you will watch on the channel that will make you cry......I'm waiting for it! Mark my words! The waterworks will commence! May or may not be drinking. Anyway......have a nice day. :)
