Shaun, we're on the same wavelength, I swear! Every film you've picked so far for the Oscar Playlist and then A Ghost Story have been ones that I've seen/loved or have wanted to see for years! Can't believe it's the first Cinema Rules 10/10! History has been made on the channel yet again! What a beautifully horrid story....Just the simple idea of finding the one meaningful thing in purgatory that will propel you to the afterlife, but also being aware that you are completely stuck, silent and alone....forced to watch the people you love move on without you. I've never seen a film that has explored those fears in such detail. The closest would probably be The Lovely Bones....a 14 year old girl is murdered and forced to watch her mother/father grieve and her sister hit the milestones she never got to hit. I feel, for the most part, that everyone is afraid of death to some extent. I am no exception. That's definitely why this film hit me unbelievably hard. I agree with both of you on this.....an incredibly special film. On a not quite so serious side note, I need footage of Casey Affleck under the sheet.....if it is him. I really want a montage of him putting the sheet on every day for my own selfish entertainment. That would make my whole year. Anyway, thanks for another special reaction, guys!
