Again you have to consider the fact that this wasn't a season finale. The show was cancelled after the 11th episode. These three shows were completed but never aired until much later when they reran the show on Scifi channel. The 14 episode probably wouldn't have been the last one of the season if the show had not been cancelled. Most series back then ran at least 20 episodes for the season and often had a second half of the season before the end of the year. This wasn't created as a last episode. The crew as talked about several of the premises that the remaining episodes would have been about. Definitely watch the movie to get a lot you your closure.
2022-02-06 20:51:44 +0000 UTCAs Miles said, this was not written as a season finale. Instead, it was more of an experimental episode that Joss Whedon used to explore concepts of existentialism. If you're not too disgusted by Whedon these days, his DVD commentary on this episode is really interesting. Looking forward to the film next week!
