Reacting to Druck Season 1 - Episode 1

Today is the day... we are dropping in to Druck Season 1 and I couldn't be more excited if I tried. Druck is going to be a huge part of our content in 2024 so lets get the ball rolling.

Matteo looks so young because he was only 17 years old, which is actually the correct age for his character. The other actors are 2-5 years older than him even though they are supposed to be the same age.

2023-12-31 14:02:49 +0000 UTCMy guess would be one reason you’re getting more reaction to Druck than you did to Skam is that, from what I can tell, a lot more people have reacted to the original (as well as the French version) than have reacted to Druck. So people who really wanted to see reactions to this show have had fewer opportunities. This season of the show started about a year before season three began, so the characters are all about a year younger, and I think Matteo in particular looks younger (I think the same was true of Isak in the OG). With the exception of a few details, this season hews more closely to the original Skam than the seasons after it, so if you watched the first episode of the OG, a lot of the same things happen in both. One thing to remember in all of these versions is that we see each season from the point of view of the main character, so the other characters sometimes come across differently from season to season because of the way the main character sees them.

They tried to make the episodes pretty much match the actual real life date and even the same clock time. In Germany they were all released on YouTube. They uploaded each episode in sections during the week and then the complete episode each Friday. Every time you see a day and time appear on screen it was a new section uploaded and it would be the same time of day in real life. So with this show it was actually really cool if you would have the notifications on. So basically with each season they didn’t start right where they left off the season before, they rather matched it to the real world. The releases of each season varied from 3 to 6 month apart from each other. The whole show started in June 2018, so almost a year before their A levels. Season 1 to 4 is like the first generation of Druck and season 5 to 8 is the second generation with a new cast. Although you can see the actors of the second generation having cameos here and there in the previous seasons… Hope that clarified some things 😉
