the way Wille asks Alex if he has a key, asks where Nils is and then completely loses interest in the society when he realizes what they actually are and doesn’t gaf who owns what amount of land (not to mention is the only one who helps Alex clean up) just really says alot about his character to me.

2024-03-03 09:54:25 +0000 UTCAnd also a power/classism/sexism thing, he is a count and in his world and in his mind he can chose who he wants and do what he wants with the working class girl.

2024-02-28 13:31:19 +0000 UTCI think the reason August kisses Sara is because he's jealous of Wille - he is afraid that Felice thinks about him during sex, that she is with him when she's not in the stable and I think he feels that he needs to even the odds. Then he could tell her that she isn't that important to him, that he kissed someone else - if it would turn out that she and Wille had something going on.

2024-02-28 13:24:13 +0000 UTCExactly this. I explained it in another video of mine but that’s exactly correct. A light head cold can cause swelling to the upper tract without being severe enough to affect the voice negatively and allows for a slightly distorted sound but eases passage through the upper register as the vocal folds can press closer together :)

2024-02-28 09:11:33 +0000 UTCSometimes a cold can make you sing better, because the vocals chords are swollen and they close tighter than usual. (Hm, I'm not sure if that is how you translate it though. Hope you understand how I mean.)

2024-02-28 08:58:59 +0000 UTCSometime it works out that way, in high school, I was sick and had very little voice, but had to participate in a solo competition, and because I was so focused on getting sound out, I ended up getting a 1 (the highest score) so it can work out that way sometimes…
Erin
2024-02-28 01:31:25 +0000 UTCFun fact: in a short interview Omar mentioned that he actually had a very bad cold when they were shooting the scene of the mourning ceremony at Hillerska and he sings. I think he sounds amazing anyway and would’ve never guessed that he was ill.

2024-02-27 17:06:37 +0000 UTCI need to start singing more. Since the vocal damage I have good days and really bad days. Mostly the latter, unfortunately!

2024-02-27 10:06:19 +0000 UTCCome to Norway!! I can show you the SKAM school, Hartvig Nissen VGS, where I went to do drama/theater. That would be cool 😊 Katie

2024-02-27 08:13:53 +0000 UTCI agree. There is no rejection like the suicide of a parent and then the other parent being absent. Totally understand August's behaviour but if course don't excuse it. He needs to talk to the sandal wearing socialist.

2024-02-27 02:33:46 +0000 UTCThe doors used beautifully again when Wille tells Simon to delete the texts. Wille leaves through a half closed door then fully closed door. Trying to shut Simon out

2024-02-27 02:30:46 +0000 UTCIt’s kind of an interesting connection between this show and Heartstopper that the two leads in both shows are made up of someone for whom this was their first real acting job paired with someone who at a young age already had a great deal of experience. Edwin has been acting since he was six years old, so he has had more time to become as good as he is, just as Kit has been acting professionally since he was eight. So their skills are impressive, but honed by years of experience. Joe, of course, had never really done anything but community theatre work, and the Omar had plenty of performance experience, but that doesn’t always translate to acting chops. Yet in neither case do you get the feeling of an unequal amount of talent between the two. I’m not sure there’s any point to any of this, except that all four of them, not to mention the other young actors playing roles in both shows, are astonishingly good and help make both series so impressive.

2024-02-27 02:26:03 +0000 UTCFirst, thank you for another wonderful reaction Jackie! Second, I really dislike August, even more so now than originally, because now I know where he is going from here. I do love Wille and Simon. Also, why can’t people clise their curtains?????
Erin
2024-02-27 01:30:12 +0000 UTCPeople question why August won't just liquidate Årnäs to pay for his room and board (his education, through high school, is paid for by the government). Status, at least in this fictional Sweden (and, perhaps, for real too) is land. August's status is being August Horn of Årnäs. Note the conversation of the boys at the drink and drug party. As Wille says in his confrontation with August later in the season, without Årnäs he can't be a member of the "Society." Of course, we do find out later that he can manage to sell a part of his inheritance when he finds a reason even stronger than his ego.

2024-02-27 01:29:53 +0000 UTCI noticed him framed in the window as well, but did not notice that everything was bigger, very interesting…
Erin
2024-02-27 01:29:35 +0000 UTCJackie, you were talking about now being more aware of the cinematography. Note how the scene of Wille giving the memorial speech to the students and staff at Hillerska is shot. Wille, now suddenly Crown Prince, is beautifully framed in the doorway but he is in this huge room. He is not powerful, he is tiny. Even the chandelier is bigger than he is. And Erik's memorial is off to his left. Everything designed to show us just how alone and unprepared he is.

2024-02-26 23:44:58 +0000 UTCOmar loves giving fans the content they want. He is just one of the fans sometimes he loves going online and reading what people are saying. He often replies to things he's not tagged in. Did you see he joined in with the memes fans have been making of the photo of him being interviewed for the documentary.

2024-02-26 23:40:11 +0000 UTCYes. All the families we see are dysfunctional or affected by tragedy of one sort or another. Felice has a pushy mother who presents her with a dress for the St Lucia ceremony with the comment that it’s too big for her but would fit Felice. She feels she has to lie about her riding abilities to live up to the idea her mother has, although she is clearly trying to relive her time at the school through her daughter and has ambitions to marry Felice off to Wille as part of her own agenda. Felice even tells the other girls including Sara that she has to straighten her hair and she only allows herself to wear it naturally curly at the beginning of season 2, after she has stood up to her mother and given the St Lucia role to Sara. I love her character and only wish she had more screen time.

2024-02-26 23:27:59 +0000 UTCI think that some of Omar’s own deliberately teasing and flirtatious posts added fuel to the rumours especially one where he posted a pic of him and Edvin arriving at an event with the comment, ‘What happens when you show up late with yer man’..the internet went WILD! 😂 I love their friendship anyway. ❤️👑❤️

2024-02-26 23:14:55 +0000 UTCAugust is a very insecure person. I don't justify what he did but he is putting on a front. Underneath this is a troubled little boy who no one ever out first and made sure his emotional needs were met. We get strong hints that he has body image issues and in S2 we have suggestions of an eating disorder. He doesn't want to sell any of his things for a few reasons he doesn't want to be embarrassed about his situation,he is still grieving his father and can't bring himself to sell any of his belongings. Status is all August has in his life he needs to have control and to keep the system in place. I think it's interesting that August's Father was a drug adict who comited suicide and August was sent away to boarding school from what I imagine was an emotionally distant family. Simon's father is a drug adict but people look down on him because he is poor. Simon's mother is very warm and obviously loves her children deeply but allows Simon to be a parent sometimes. Willhelm comes from a controlling public imagine obsessed family who don't listen to what Willhelm wants.

2024-02-26 23:13:03 +0000 UTCI would love to see him directing.

2024-02-26 23:11:49 +0000 UTCEdvin is an amazing actor and he was only 17 when he filmed this first series. He has been in high demand as an actor over the past year. I wouldn't be surprised though he started directing.
Jayne Riley
2024-02-26 22:46:14 +0000 UTCIt wasn't totally improvised as Edvin worked with the director on the scene. I believe they watched the Wolf of Wall Street for inspiration.
Jayne Riley
2024-02-26 22:42:18 +0000 UTCThis episode and the next episode are my favourites. It's true Edvin and Omar have the most amazing chemistry even when they are just spending time together outside of the series you can feel the chemistry. I can totally understand why people ship them. I think they both have flirtatious outgoing personalities which is why even family of other cast members have asked if they are together in real life. Mostly I think they don't care but I think it has caused a few issues in Omar's personal life.
Jayne Riley
2024-02-26 22:39:40 +0000 UTCThis remains one of my favourite episodes from both seasons. I remember thinking when I watched it the first time, that I had never experienced on-screen chemistry like Edvin and Omar’s. And I still haven’t. It’s no wonder that so many people shipped them together in real life, (yeah, I know we shouldn’t) because it’s so intense that it’s difficult to believe it’s acting. Another memorable aspect of this episode is that I seem to remember that it initiated the founding of the August Hate Club, of which I think we’re all still signed-up members…😂

2024-02-26 22:22:08 +0000 UTCThe soccer field scene never fails to blow my mind. It makes even more special knowing the scene was improvised. ♥️ Edvin and Omar acting skills in this episode are unbelievably good and they keep getting better and better each new episode.
