The tension and build up towards the ending was so well directed in this episode. Especially after that dream sequence. With the washed out color of the shots, the silence of Okabe on the roof, Mayuri trying to bring him back inside the lab, the hard cut to that timestamp and the hard cut back to the empty rooftop and the way it just lingers on that shot for a long time before we enter the opening. It's so ominous and feels so off. Its brilliant. Not only that but once Okabe decides to give it off to some other organisation the way the show just decides to calm down and act like everything is normal with the jokes and cute scenes with Okabe and Kurisu. It distracts you and makes you feel safe like everything is gonna be ok for a moment before it all comes crashing down with that sudden and cruel ending sequence. I love this series ππ―
