EXTREMELY IMPORTANT !! PLS READ

Patreon is making some billing changes and it puts us BOTH in some annoyingly hot water, with some dependencies.

On YOUR end, if you are an apple user, and have subscribed via your phonee/the Apple Store, THIS MAY AFFECT YOU. as the last photo explains, soon Apple will apply a 30% subscription fee on their end. This(supposedly) will not affect current members, but!!! Should you unsubscribe, and wish to resub in the future:

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE VIA IOS!!!!! you will be charged extra :(( do it via desktop! You should be able to still use the app.

Now, on my end of things, I am extremely inconvenienced in regard to new members. Patreon is going to FORCE me to swap billing methods. The way that my monthly billing usually works is that when a new customer subscribes, should it be the 5th, 7th, 17th of the month… they will be billed on the 1st of the next. I never wanted to take more of people’s money by taking advantage of this system so lemme put that out there, however, this is my JOB and has been for years. I need that upfront payment on the 1st-3rd to ensure my rent is paid, along with other extremely important bills.

I will now be forced to use the Subscription method, in which a customer is billed on the day they subscribe. This could be rough if every single one of my new customers starts subbing after the 15th. Spread out payments of $3 at a time is NOT good for me to survive. So, this is my formal request:

PLEASE, if you’re going to resub, do so at the start of the month!! I honestly think in the end the subscription method is good for customers, they can be sure they’ll be charged on a certain date. I just genuinely don’t appreciate that I’m being forced to change my platform. I’ll literally have to change the way I advertise… I’ll have less incentive to post content, especially later into the month, as that’s when I DONT want people joining.

This is extremely stressful to me as an individual at war with change, so I’m sorry if any of this comes off poorly. Thank you all SO much for your support. Always.
