It had been four weeks since Weiss and her friends had come to visit Atlas. Winter was off duty, so she was appointed their chaperone around the Schnee Manor. Winter had been skeptical initially, but her younger sister Weiss kept good company. Ruby, Yang, and Blake were all kind and polite.
Perhaps a little too kind…
It didn't take long before they started to lavish Winter with gifts. These mostly came in the form of food, but she had also been given flowers, fancy bath bombs, and other various luxury items. Winter had been raised believing that refusing a gift was improper. It didn’t mean she had to use them. However, when Winter next saw the girls, they would ask how she enjoyed their gifts. Their eyes turned sad whenever she said she hadn't made use of them.
