As promised, this is Spike's first solo tale in the actual 'verse, and it... wound up being more of a marathon than I thought it would. We're talking about nearly 20k words here, so... if the next few update chapters wind up being somewhat shorter, please consider me to be engaging in the very pony activity of trotting slowly after the big race, instead of making the mistake of trying to completely stop everything at once.
