New one-shot story: Haganai: I Don't Have Many Pony Friends. (Post #1 of (potentially) #2)

I came up with this concept some time ago: the initial idea is archived in an old blog post. It's a crossover without the actual meeting: the characters of one series watching those from another via the expected medium and trying to take lessons from it -- followed, naturally, by horribly getting it wrong. And I woke up this morning with something approaching an urge to go for it -- so roughly 6500 words later, it's up.

However, I think I may be dancing on the edge of FIMFic's suitability line here. I added a little coda scene to the end in the hopes of bringing it within standards (plus I thought of a minor joke which fit), but it's still a crossover without the crossover. The word count and time spent on creation would generally justify an immediate post charge -- but I feel there's a chance this story could wind up being taken down after the moderators get a full look at it. I've had that happen once before, and it took place within two hours of that story reaching the New column.

So what I'm going to do is wait one full day. If the story is still up by this time on Saturday, then it's been fully accepted by FIMFic: I'll make another post and hit the Charge button on that. But if it's taken down, I'll move the original file to my blog so the late arrivals can still read it, and leave that button alone.

The story just hit the New column. Start the clock.
