What's the deal with a double stack 1911 that takes Glock magazines?  My first thoughts.

still on the fence, but leaning hard after this review; waiting on the full review before taking a decision; grateful as always

For the normal handed people that may be concerned, in terms of the slide release being in a slightly different location I don't see it being much different than a standard 1911/2011 slide release. I can count on one hand, with fingers left over, how many people I know with long enough thumbs to push down the slide release with. Typically the only way to use your dominate thumb is with grips that have a super scoop (which the frame doesnt), breaking your grip and rolling the gun towards you, or the classic using your support hand thumb after you insert the new mag to send the slide home kind of like reloading an AR. With that being said I really hope the reliability holds up, I built out multiple different guns on their website for carry and competition. The most expensive one was around the 1850-ish mark. For the sub 2k price range for a double stack 1911 it seems like it'll be extremely hard to beat when the closest competitor in the same category at the moment is the Poor-digy. Not to mention the cheap, plentiful, and low maintenance mags to go with it. That's one of the biggest things that keeps me from plunging into the double stack 1911 world despite how bad I want a Quantico Hi Cap.

Obscured front lens is going to get dramatically worse once you throw a can on it.
