Floppotron status update

Hi!

It's been a while since my last post, but don't worry - this project is not dead.
After some complications, I have finally moved to a new place. However I have to ask you for a little more patience.

I am having some health issues and a surgery pre-scheduled for 2nd half of 4th quarter this year. It's not life-critical, but it will ground me for another 1,5-2 months. There is also a good side - while being on sick leave, I'll have some free time to work on a software for Floppotron 3.0. Speaking of which - I haven't been completely idling for last 3 months.
I am currently working on new hardware / software and it looks like I'm getting somewhere. There is a (not-feature-complete) working prototype which will allow me the upscale the orchestra. I'll be most likely replacing the old electronics in the background first and then add more devices when it's stable enough. A the moment the hardware is far from being complete, but looks almost good enough to go live and be gradually improved while filming new videos.

So... what's next? I am still waiting for the date of my surgery. If I'll find enough time to pull all the pieces out of boxes and set it up in my new flat then I'll likely make one or two videos by that time. Luckily, I don't have a wife yet, so I won't get decapitated for bringing a ton of 30-year old, obsolete junk into the living room. When the software is ready-enough (I'm estimating mid Q1 to early Q2 next year), I'll start to look for a non-residential space to rent somewhere around and start growing the beast.

Thanks for supporting this project and as always - have fun!

Best wishes from Denmark, Hope the surgery goes smoothly! My boyfriend and I love listening to Floppotron's flawless interpretations, and we cannot wait to hear him play us the magical tune of Flight of the Bumblebee.

Waiting for you to get better. Take care :)

Good luck dude! We'll be here on the other side :)
