Patreon Update!

Hi there, Patrons!

So I’ve got some good news and bad news. The good news is that my wrist is on the mend, and as you may have noticed I’ve been able to get out a few stories here and there!

The bad news is that my work has piled up while I was off getting mended, and I’m still digging myself out of it. This means that I’ve been nowhere near making my Patreon goals for the last month or so, and that’s likely to continue.

Rather than keep breaking those promises month after month, I’m going to change things around here. Unfortunately, my work pays significantly more than Patreon does, so my priority will always be work to ensure I have food on the table. As such, I’ll be lightening the Patreon reward tiers in terms of word counts. 

For the $50 reward, I’m dropping things to 1500 words a month, and for the $25 reward I’m dropping it to 750. This is a more manageable and attainable monthly goal for me given my current workload. 

I know that's not what some of you signed up for, and if you feel that's no longer a good use of your dollars--you have my apologies, and there's no hard feelings if you drop your reward tier. 

I’m also going to be switching up the Patron draw that I provide to all patrons, including those at the $1 level. I’ve found that a few of you are all about providing ideas when you win the draw, but there’s a majority of you that don’t even respond to my messages either here or via email when I reach out. 

Frankly, that’s fine! You don’t have to shout back at me with an idea, or even respond at all. If you prefer to just provide your $1 a month to help me create the kind of content that I do without an expectation of reward, that’s great! But it also means the draw is a somewhat ineffective way to encourage donations since for the past several months nobody has effectively won anything.

So instead I’m going to change things up. Rather than a draw, I’ll be holding a monthly poll. The poll will have a few selected topics, and you can respond simply by paying attention on Patreon. This means for those of you paying attention you can influence my writing at any reward level. 

For those who aren’t paying attention, you’re not reading this anyways, but I still appreciate you!

Anywhoodle, expect to see these changes in the coming weeks. As for new content every week, that might also have to be adjusted as I prefer to have real, concrete chapters than just 400 word blurbs, but we’ll see how much work I can get done.
