This is one of those cases where the story's tone completely shifted between initial idea and composition. When I first had the concept, it was just going to be Luna stumbling through a day of trying to get to the sweets before the place she was targeting went out of business forever. But then I decided that a 'Luna among the populace' story was a little too close to Jury Duty II. That meant a different approach, and after sleeping on it --
-- well, given the last couple of nights, barely sleeping on it --
-- this is where I wound up.
It's a little short of 10k on the word count. I doubt I'll have time or strength tomorrow to try and get one last piece up for the month (especially as writing can retrigger insomnia) -- but if that somehow happens, it'll probably be a lot shorter.
The last story was disguises, and this one is chocolate. Consider the holiday honored.
