This morning, at roughly eight a.m, I had an idea for a lightheated comedy. Something holiday-themed, if a little belated for the holiday in question. A touch of silliness as the year began to close out. Because it's been a dark month, I already did one dark story and... I thought it was just time to have some fun.
At approximately ten a.m, I got a call from the physical rehabilitation center. It informed me that my mother had twice attempted to get out of the building and, upon being discovered the second time, had reacted to being detained by trying to hit people. As such, she was being sent to the nearest hospital for evaluation.
The next seven hours were spent running to different medical facilities, calling friends & family, and trying to talk her down. She finally agreed that if she just didn't have to deal with the staff members she didn't like, she was willing to go back, and they were willing to take her.
Roughly five minutes before I started to compose this post, the rehabilitation facility called. She'd just been brought back by ambulance and upon arriving, had promptly refused to go inside. As such, they were calling *another* ambulance, and she was being returned to the hospital for evaluation.
Somewhere in between, I tried to write a lighthearted comedy.
It clocked in at about 6400 words. I think there's some laughs in it. I hope it's quality work.
I'll read the first comments in the hospital.
