New one-shot story: Dental Impact

The current pre-post Patreon prompt text in this composition window is "What are you thinking about?" Well, this month, I've been thinking about doctors. It feels like all I've done this month is run back and forth to doctors, visit hospitals, visit people at hospitals, and try to work with the needs (and expenses) of medical care. It may feel that way because it has a fair relationship with the truth. And today, I got to wrestle with somebody else's dental care -- something which has been going on for weeks, but today was the day when I finally got to arrange the last appointment. Something the arranged-for party decided to break within hours, in hopes of the tender mercies (and not-hoped-for potential errors) of a teaching facility and their associated price break -- which, based on the full range I was quoted over the phone, may actually cost more than the original place. And that's before gas, tolls, and parking get involved. Especially parking.

So that's what I've been thinking about. That, and everything conspiring to destroy every chance I've had at writing all month. Plus I'm going to spend hours tomorrow sitting in a dental school. Waiting. Another lost day...

Tonight, I pushed. And naturally, events tried to keep me from finishing -- but this time, I got through. Just about 7k on this one, and with an odd tag combo: Comedy/Dark/Horror to go with the Everyone rating.

What am I thinking about?
