Shirt’s prices have been static for years and years, additionally apple is well-known to add surcharges to things bought/subscribed in their app, lastly if you purchase something without verifying the price it’s all on you, theirs no grounds to complain.

The fact that patreon is making the system worse on their money printing machine is a clear failure of capitalism.

He doesn't have to tell you, he's an author not an IT expert and therefore probably more focused on what he does, on top of that, apple are famously shady for literally everything and just had a huge court battle with epic games for the whole 30% surcharge. It isn't his responsibility to ensure you're aware of a widely known issue and him doing so is a courtesy, not a necessity, you should be thanking him instead of acting like a child spitting out your dummy!

Patreon iOS is pretty much the only major app without accessibility support for basic features like text size. Patreon's app is so bad that I still use the website on my phone.

I made a suggestion on the topic, allegedly they are working on it. I also suggested a Webtoon style currency but apparently it has been ruled out which I think is dumb.

I'm pretty sure its just %30 more expensive $10 -> $13.30. Also in the contract that forces them to do this Patreon isn't allowed to tell you why the price went up.

From what I understand, if you signed up for a membership before Apple started charging, you don’t need to do anything. No need to unsubscribe and resubscribe. If you signed up for a membership directly on their website through a web browser, you don’t need to do anything. Only NEW subscribers done through the mobile app are subject to the 30%. You can still use the mobile app to read the stories, just don’t sign up/pay through the mobile app.

Are you able to check if a particular sub is getting that cut taken out? Pretty sure I signed up for it through the browser, but I do primarily use the iOS app. If you’re losing 30% of the money though I’ll absolutely get that fixed up

Not yet, but Patreon does its best to change that, is the more or less the last info from Shirtaloon that I am aware of. It was sometimes in December, I think.

I've been using the app for a year or so but never paid anything to anyone, especially Apple. Strange. It's definitely buggy, but if I don't have anything but my phone it's at least slightly convenient.
