I wanted to finish the month on a light note, because let's face it: the planet is currently going through some things. We can go back to the relative shadows of Anchor Foal in July: closing out June seemed to require some attempt at a laugh. And I get ideas from strange places, or just carry over life into fiction. In this case...
...my mother's favorite shampoo was discontinued.
No, seriously. It's no longer being made. I'm told it's a great shampoo and like pretty much everything that works perfectly, it got pulled off the shelves for a different model. In this case, the name of the product line was given to something else entirely, which also works perfectly. Creating total disinterest within the marketplace requires a certain degree of negative perfection.
A shampoo which did exactly what it was meant to (in my mother's case, that meant protection of color treatments), taken off the shelves. It left me trying to find one more bottle, to buy her some time. It wasn't an easy search.
Now who among our cast could go through 8300 words of obsessing over shampoo?
Yep. See you in July.
