And so ends what did, in fact, turn out to be One-Shot Month. Updates on continuing stories will resume in July. Additionally, I finally got that blog up about the Bad Time, so a degree of clarity can now be found.
As for tonight's posting? This is very much a post-Triptych story (and was labeled as such in the first comment, as a warning, because non-readers will be very confused): another slow step into the deeper waters of AU. But it's also something else. Because it's been noted that the cast tends to run in herds. We have a Ponyville group, a Canterlot assembly, and the Empire has its own performers -- with the segments hardly ever interacting.
So this provides a little bit of intersection, using two characters who simply haven't shared a stage before: Spike and Luna. Because as it turns out, they have some things in common. And over the course of 7200 words, they talked about a few of them.
Which included giving out a name a little earlier than I'd originally planned.
