As those who follow my site blog already know, this is the idea which arose from being in the audience at that one panel. It just turned out to be a much longer idea than I'd thought, because I originally believed this was going to be a fairly quick Comedy/SoL pairing: five to seven thousand words, post and hope for laughs. As-is? The word count came in at 12k and I wound up taking the Comedy tag off, because I wasn't sure there were enough open attempts to humor to justify it. The story emerged as what I felt was just about pure SoL, and with the latest Fun With Doctors involved (blog to come, probably today -- and ETA: it is now up), it took three frequently-interrupted days to write.
But it's in the New column now. And that means I get to turn my attention to the real comedy. Because as we all know, nothing is funnier than a broken rear.
In theory.
In reality, a sacrum fracture doesn't feel very funny at all.
